Michael Parkin was born in approximately 1828 in Newbottle, County Durham. I don't know who his parents were or whether he had any siblings. At some time before the 1881 census Michael married Mary Taylor as the census records them as married with one daughter (Mary Parkin b.1875/76), two boarders (George and Joseph Spores) and a domestic servant (Jemima Innes). Michael's wife's maiden name can be determined to be Taylor as when their daughter, Mary, married in 1892 she officially records her name as Mary Taylor Parkin. I cannot definately find reference to either Michael or Mary in the 1901 census but can find a reference to a death of a Michael Parkin between April and June 1902 in Sunderland. He was 74.
