What is certain is that Thomas Keith married Margaret Henderson in Old Machar in 1804 and went on to have nine children. A search of the Church of Latter Day Saints website records the only Thomas Keith born in Old Machar at around that time to be christened on 3 July 1769. This would make him sixteen years older than his wife and thirty-five when he married. The Thomas Keith who was christened in 1769 had six brothers and two sisters (Elspet and Euphemia). The Thomas Keith who married in 1804 had seven daughters and two sons. Two of his seven daughters are also named Elspet and Euphemia. Given the rarity of these names, I believe this to be strong circumstantial evidence of the link.
