My brief stint at admistration was between 1999-2003. I had the oppurtunity to be a part of the team to set up not one but two engineering colleges. Being the department incharge/ head of the department in this period gave me the oppurtunity to experience the uphill task of establishing and running a department first hand.

I should say that the whole experience of setting up a UG department in private institutes is no easy task. First of all either you have all the funds under the sun or none at all.Having said that, there is nothing on earth to replace the joy of getting your own 2000 suare feet of floor space to design for a lab; especially if you are given the job of deciding where each and every tube light and water pipe goes!

But what gives me joy is the unmatched interaction I had with my students in this period. Nothing on earth can match the joy of interacting with bright and lively students, all full of life and mischief. Like I mentioned on the first page, this site is more like a blog, so there is ample scope for nostalgia! Afterall didn't "god give us memories so we can have roses in december"? (although I prefer a digital camera any day!)
