21 Dec 00 Again a long time between updates and only really to say that I've added a couple new links to my Links page. Thanks for everyone who still visits the site and sends me nice emails. It keeps making me come back and work on this site. Now that things are less hectic at work maybe I'll get time to do some updates although most of my work will still be going into my new domain I will link this site from the domain however, so hopefully things here won't go dead altogether! More to come soon!

19 Oct 00 Well goodness hasn't it been a long time since the last update! Well the reason for that is I've been working on my new site - Wildego.com! It is a site for myself and my family to put up our various interests - kind of like this one but just a new start that's all. Anyway, at the moment it's pretty much just stuff about my computer habit and Cold Fusion coding although my father also has some stuff up as well. Come by and visit and let me know what you think. Watch this space!

5 Aug 2000 Just a short update today. I've added a couple more photos to the showring - thanks everybody who keeps submitting their beautiful photos to go up on my site - I love them all! Remember anybody can submit a photo for the showring or a link to be added by sending the info and picks to Tracey ( thats me! ) Also, I updated the horselinks page so there are a few more places to visit if you canter down to the Links Page Hope to hear from you all soon and I should be updating the site with some more pictures shortly.

28th July 2000 Ok, so today I put up The Show Ring a place where you can put up picutres and descriptions of your horses to share with the rest of us. I really hope you share your favorite horses with us and we can get a nice little album going. If you want to submit a picture just send it here! and I'll put it right up. Hope you come back and don't forget to sign the guestbook!

24th July 2000 Well, two updates in one day - what a miracle! Just wanted to say that The Stableyard now has it's own dedicated Links page and you can also submit your Link for addition if you'd like. Feel free to suggest your site - even if it's not horse related it could still go on the main links page. Thanks!

24th July 2000 Just a quick note today to say a couple things. First of all I added another link - this one to The World of Sas and Kiwi . You should stop by her site - she also has a gallery for reader photos. I am going to start working on a gallery of my own as I think it's such a good idea so if you would like to see your horse ( and you ) in my gallery please send a picture or URL location of your horse and a description of them to macroeconomix@yahoo.com so I can start getting a page together. I've also decided to compile a seperate links page for my Horse links as the list seems to be getting longer and longer. The links page is still as it has been but check back soon for a dedicated horsey links page - and don't forget your photos!

23th July 2000 Another quick entry today to say that I have joined The Draft Horse Webring to help show my appreciation for the big horses that I love! Please explore the webring and show your support for the giants of the horse world! I also added a couple of links - one for The American Draft Horse Association and one for The End of The Trail - a cool site from a lovely lady. You can submit a photo of your horse and his story to go in her gallery - something I may have to try here!

22th July 2000 Just wanted to say Congratulations! to my friend Denise at Forest Park Riding Center for the birth of her new foal to her mare Fern. For new baby pictures go here! I also updated the The Stable Block with a photo of William, another horse close to my heart. Be sure to stop by and see the photos and don't forget to sign the guestbook! More pictures to follow soon plus some more info on Forest Park!

19th July 2000 Well I've been real busy on the Stableyard lately and hope you like the changes. I have added a Yard Photo Album to the Yard which will have various pictures of the different horses in my life - for all of you out there who like to look! I have also added a guestbook to the bottom of this page - although it's not very noticeable at the moment - but I'd love for you to sign it none the less. We have also been linked in the The Haynet under Personal Homepages and have also joined The Horseluvers Webring It seems that this part of the Wildego Homepage is taking on a life of it's own - good! Also I've been emailing a very nice woman who has exactly the same taste in horses that I do. If you have a soft spot for draft horses then go on over to The Stall Next Door - I think you'll be happy that you did. Anyway, please sign the guestbook and email me if you like. It's always nice to know you've visited. And come back soon for more updates!

Hello and welcome to my Stableyard page. On this page I will introduce you to one of my favorite pastimes - horses - and also introduce you to a few of the horses in my life. I have been horseriding for about 6 years now and have owned my own horse for about 3 years. I love to trail ride and compete in preliminary Dressage competitions and I have also been studying for my British Horse Society exams. My riding has had to take a bit of a back burner this year due to various reasons but I still enjoy all things horsey and hope to continue riding until I'm old and grey! ( or greyer as some might say) :-) The most important horse in my life is my 8 year old mare, Heather. I bought her when she was just five years old and had just had her first foal. Her training was minimal and, since she was my first horse, there was some doubt whether she was the best choice for me. I bought her from a local dealer and little was known of her breeding except that she was a Shire-cross and she had at least been backed.(again not a highly recommended combination for a first time owner)

Fortunately for me, I boarded her at an excellent stable,Forest Park Riding and Livery Stable in Brandon, England. With the help of the proprietor, Miss Julie Ashley, I was able to train Heather into a wonderful trail and dressage horse. I came to trust her completely and my first experience of horse ownership was, wonderfully, a fantastic one. however, I ended up having to leave her to move overseas with my job, first to Germany and now to Okinawa Japan. I have lived in Okinawa for almost one year and, fortunately, have been able to continue my riding at Mihara's Riding Club not far from Kadena Airbase. They have some lovely thoroughbred and warmblood cross horses there which are quite well schooled but quite a challenge as well :-) The instructor there is Mikki Schattilly and she has a wealth of riding experience to offer her students. The horses are regularly schooled in dressage and show jumping and have competed at local shows which resulted in quite a few ribbons.

Riding the horses has been, for me, a challenge in many ways as I had never really ridden thoroughbred type horses before but it has resulted in me learning a lot about myself and learning a lot of good horsemanship skills. Recently I have begun riding a horse named Al, who is another grey, and we have been doing quite well together. He is a good horse who is teaching me a lot about riding with a lighter touch and has also given me a tremendous amount of confidence lately. He is a sweet heart in the stable and quite good to ride although, like all greys, has a few tricks up his sleeve which outwit me from time to time. If you find yourself in Okinawa drop me a line and maybe we can meet at the stables and exchange horse stories sometime!
