These are some of my best haiku and senryu of 1998.

Even less writing as I got a more permanent job.
The Internet had been taking up more of my time... but unlike one would think, I still read a lot, both haiku and other poetry. Only my own productivity reached a low point.

soft snowfall
under the streetlamps
orange flakes
one more frosty day
but under my window
...a hint of green
five steps with closed eyes
– the snow bank
too bright to look at
her letter:
once written,
a hundred times read
cold:
I seek warmth everywhere
but from people
straining to hear the nightingale
I am drenched
by the unseen rain
full-grown leaves
wet in the warm rain
– spring's over
before the storm
how white the seagull
overhead
