The Psychiatrist - Chapter 5 On the basketball court, as always, were two tall familiar figure who were playing a one on one. The game lasted for about half an hour and Sendoh was the winner. 'Luckily I won today. As I lost yesterday, I wonder...' Sendoh mused. He could not let go of the incident that happened yesterday; the slipped out of the tongue thing. He wanted to know how Rukawa felt about him. Did Rukawa like him since he didn not get angry when Sendoh called him by his first name yesterday? He stood there for a while, deep in thought. "Hey," Rukawa called out to him. "Huh?" Sendoh was slightly taken a back. "Hungry?" asked Rukawa. "Huh?" Sendoh was even more surprised. "What's wrong with you??" Rukawa was getting irritated by Sendoh's dumb answers. "Oh, ya! Let's eat," said Sendoh grinning with joy. In a shop nearby, "Have you heard the song 'This I Promise You' sung by N'sync?" Sendoh asked Rukawa. He loved that song and everytime he heard it, he always thought of singing it to Rukawa. "Nope, never heard of it," was the answer. Slightly disappointed, he thought of singing it to Rukawa but realised what it may lead to. After some thinking, he decided not to but instead said," Next time when you hear it, listen to the lyrics and then umm... um... just don't forget I'm the one who told you to listen to it, okay?" Rukawa just nodded, surprised. He had no idea who this N'sync was anyway; must be a boy band. He never listened to them. Seemed like only girls like them. He never listened to boy bands and had no idea who N'sync was, so they must be a boy band, Rukawa thought. Sendoh listens to this kind of music? "Tomorrow, no one on one," Rukawa told Sendoh. "Huh?" (^^ here we go again) "I've got something to do tomorrow." Actually tomorrow was the day when Kaoru went missing two years ago. Rukawa spent that same day last year by the beach alone, thinking of Kaoru and intending to do the same tomorrow. "Oh, okay," Sendoh replied although he really wanted to know what the big day was tomorrow. When he found out about it later from Onizuka, he was hurt. For he knew that Kaoru was much more important to Rukawa than a one on one basketball game was with him. "Damn, what a dumb day this is" Sendoh complained to himself. He had stayed in late today at work since there was no basketball game to play. It was almost eight (^^ not very late huh, but Sendoh always goes back from work at 5.30 ever since he played one on one with Rukawa), and he was hungry... really hungry. The worst part was, his car broke down and got stuck in the middle of the road. Handphone? Ah... out of batteries... "Damn!!" Suddenly, a car stopped beside him and out walked Rukawa. "Huh?" (^^) Sendoh said. "What's wrong with you? Why do you keep going 'huh?'!" asked Rukawa. "Nothing I'm stuck here. Can you help out?" grinned Sendoh. He was so happy to see Rukawa. Rukawa called the toll-truck and Sendoh's car was sent to be fixed. He offered Sendoh a ride. Inside Rukawa's car... "I didn't know you owned a car. A nice one too," Sendoh broke the ice. "Ya," was the reply and than there was silence. Rukawa was actually on the way home from the beach and today was not a happy day for him. Both people sat quietly and the radio was playing an English song. Sendoh was listening to it. Have you ever loved somebody so much it makes you cry Have you ever needed someone so bad you can't sleep at night Have you ever try to find the words but they don't come out right Have you ever... oh have you ever. The words touched Sendoh's heart greatly. That was what he felt towards Rukawa and he knew he had to make a move. (no... no. No... not kissing...) "Would you come pick me up everyday to work since my car has broke down?" Sendoh asked. Hey, Rukawa was not dumb. He knew what Sendoh was trying to say. He got really confused, he just couldn't... couldn't accept Sendoh's intent. He hit the breaks and the car stopped. To be Continued... **Previous**Next** |
