Remembrance Day, 2006

A dark image of the band on hand for Remembrance Day ceremonies. After the service at the South Pavilion at the Exhibition grounds, the band played at the Army, Navy & Air Force veterans' club, and then at the Legion.

George Lane Park, High River, Sunday, August 27, 2006

This photo was on the top of the front page of the High River Times August 30, 2006. After performing our sets in a circle in a newly built bandstand, we marched off. The text in the photo reads: "MUSIC SOOTHES THE SOUL - Over the weekend High River hosted a variety of Scottish events and bands, including the Highland Games and The Royal Canadian Legion Lethbridge Pipe and Drum Band, shown here marching out of George Lane Park after opening for the Celtic folk band Get Reel, Aug. 27. For more on the High River Highland Games, see page 11."

Almost every parade-ready member of the band was out for this event, some for their first performance with the band. Photos: Tom Wilson

Claresholm parade, Saturday, August 12, 2006

On the move in the Claresholm parade, Aug. 12, 2006. The parade began amid some sporadic light rain and cool temperatures. The Clan Maxwell band was there, only slightly bigger in numbers. We were stretched for personnel, but fortunately Bruce agreed to step up to play bass for us for the 50 minute parade.

Taber parade, Saturday, May 27, 2006

After the parade (someone has a jacket that's too short). It was a chilly, damp day and after waiting 20 minutes in the cold and damp, we finally got to go. By parade's end, drones were failing throughout the band. Calgary Police were out in force, and fielded a large, good sounding band. Clan Maxwell also fielded a small band of six. We were between the two bands in the parade line-up, and behind a girls' marching band from southeastern BC.
