"Things To Think About"
Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one, so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift.
When the door of happiness closes, another opens, but oftentimes we look too long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us.
The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you ever had.
Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they'll love you back.  Don't expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart.  If it doesn't, be content that it grew in yours.
Appreciate every moment and take from it everything you possibly can; you may never have just that same experience again.  Create your own life and then go out and live it.
If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but also because they are teaching you to love and to open your eyes and heart to things you would otherwise miss.  Make every day count.
Always put yourself in another's shoes.  If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the other person, too.
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything.
"ADVICE FROM MOM"
Eat your vegetables.

Choose to be happy.

When things get bad (and they will), keep reminding yourself that "this, too, shall pass."  Because it will.

Be honorable.  Pay your bills.  Keep your word.  Be true to yourself at all times.  If at all possible, try to never tell a lie.

Exercise.  A little every day.

Talk to your Creator.  A little every day.

Be kind.  You will be loved for it.

Don't be afraid of changes.  Everything must change; it is a universal law.

Don't take people you care about for granted.  They may not be here tomorrow.

Never roller skate in front of lions and tigers.  It drives them crazy.

Forgive yourself if you make a mistake.

Don't be afraid to be different.

Stay in touch with the child within yourself.

Don't try to be perfect.  Perfect people are exceedingly boring.

To my daughters:  Remember what the Bible says in Proverbs - "A fair woman without discretion is like a jewel in the snout of a swine."  Enough said.

Try to do at least one good deed a day, more if possible.

Be generous with your love, generous with your laughter, and generous to those who have less than you.  It will all come back to you in your own time of need.
