The One I Thought I'd Never Find

It was about 7:00am, and I was still in bed. I rolled over and tried to go back to sleep. The doorbell rang and woke me up. I flew out if my bed and went downstairs to answer the door. It was Aj. Aj what the hell are you doing here, you know I sleep late on Thursday, I yelled. But it's not Thursday, he replied, its Friday. What! Oh my God, I'm late for work, Jonathan's late for school. I said running up the stairs. I threw on some clothes. Lucky for me, it was casual Friday. I got Jonathan ready and left. Aj could you please take Jonathan to school I pleaded. Ok, Aj replied. Get in squirt, he said opening the door for Jonathan. After work I called Aj. Hi babe, he said, I got Jonathan ok. Great I replied Thanks. I pulled into the driveway; Jonathan and Aj were in the yard playing.  Mommy! Jonathan said as he ran to hug me. Aj came over too. He had a very serious look on his face. What's wrong baby I asked. We gotta talk, he said. We went into the house and sat down at the table. We got our touring schedule today, Aj said. We start in three weeks. We're gonna tour America for a while, then Europe and a few other places, then we're coming back to tour a little bit more, over here. How long are you gonna be gone? I asked. Aj mumbled something but I didn't hear what he said. Huh? I said.  F, five, five months he replied. Five months! I screamed. How could you be going for five months? Do you know how much could happen in five months? I know baby, he said. But it's not all bad. The tour starts right here in Florida, and then we come back for a while in the middle, then again in the end. The overseas tour is only about 2 months out of the whole thing. Then when we come back, most of the touring is in the southern states so most of the time I'll be right here in the good old US of A with you. Oh, all right, I said giving up. I felt a little relieved from his explanation. But for the three more weeks we had together, I wasn't going to let him out of my sight. Turn on the TV. I said to Nadean. Aj and the guys will be on any minute. You know it's really funny, Nadean said grabbing the remote. Even though you were with Justin for so long, it still seems so exciting to see Aj on TV. Knowing that he's your boyfriend. Now if only if I could get Mark to make a demo or something of his songs. He has this huge rhyme book that he writes in when he's mad. Some of them are quite good though. There's this
one called "Hi my name is" it's really funny. What's he gonna do I joked. Make a record about doing drugs and name it after his mom. Shut up they're on, Nadean said tuning up the TV. I picked up the phone to called Afiya. Hi Fiya, turn to channel 7 Aj's on the Rosie O'Donnell show (*Authors note: Channel 7 is ABC. The station number may vary from state to state.)  I couldn't wait to see Aj on that stage and when he came out, my heart melted. He wore a sweater that I bought him. His hair was quite normal, this time. It was it's normal color, and he had it spiked and the tips frosted. Aw, he's so adorable I said. You know you don't have to do that Nadean said. He is " your" boyfriend. Rosie chatted with them for a while and then she asked the forbidden question, which of the remaining three Backstreet Boys has a girlfriend. I think we should leave right Kev, Brian said getting out of his chair. No, we want you to stay, Rosie said. And married or not, they all still love you. A huge agreeing roar came from the audience. Howie and Nick both said they didn't have girlfriends. And now Aj was in the spotlight. Well, he began I'm sure you all know that I broke up with Kelly Davis. The audience applauded that. Brian smirked, Howie tried to keep a straight face, Kevin smiled politely, and Nick turned his head. Anyway, he continued. I wasn't planning on dating for a while, but then I met someone and to make a long story short, yes I do have a girlfriend. So you all can erase Kelly of your next to die list and add the name of this vision on loveliness, he said
holding up my picture. Show that on the overhead, Rosie said. And then I was staring at a huge picture of myself on national TV. My mouth dropped. I don't believe he took my picture.. To do show and tell on the Rosie O'Donnell show. I screamed. At least he used a good pic, Nadean said. I was steaming mad, but then I saw his cute face on the screen and I couldn't help not being mad at him anymore.

 I don't believe your not going to be in bed next to me tomorrow, I said wrapping my arms around Aj. I can't believe your not even going to be in the same state. Don't worry Aj said, I'll be back in a few weeks before the overseas tour. I know, I know. But I'm gonna miss you so much. Jonathan's gonna miss you too.  I'll miss you guys just as much, Aj said.  Uh, Aj, we gotta go, the plane is two seconds away from taking off, literally and the pilots getting restless, Howie said. I'm coming Aj replied before giving me a kiss. A few minutes later, Nick came out. Aj, the pilot said that your making the flight run off schedule and if you don't get in this plane now he's gonna come out here and kick your ass. Ok, ok, but you know I can take him. Aj said picking up his carrying luggage. I love you, he said, once again as usual looking deep into my eyes. My eyes began to tear. I love you too, I said back. I looked in amazement as he boarded the plane. That was the first time Aj ever told he loved me. Besides in the height of passion. It felt so good. I had an ear to ear smile on my face as I drove home. I was so missing Aj but it wasn't as bad as before. At least we're still in the same country, I said. Nadean laughed as she raided my fridge. Your pregnancy is eating me out a house and home, I said. Don't blame me, blame Mark Nadean said. I blame you for having sex with him I joked. Just then the phone rang. It was Aj. Hi baby I said, how's New York? It's great Aj replied. I've been to New York before but they never made us stay in the Hilton Hotel. The Hilton? Wow next time I'm coming with you. I heard Nick and Kevin in the background. How's that? I asked. Oh, nobody, just the guys in here playing video games. Say hi to Angelle he told them. Hi Angelle they said in chorus. So what are you doing? He asked. Trying to salvage something for dinner, Nadean ate all the food in the house.  Even your stash of Cookies and Cream Bars that were under the bed, I replied. Oops, I'm busted Aj smirked. We talked for a while then I heard a huge cheer of excitement. Angelle, room service is here, I'll call you back later. Ok bye, I said. Pass a chicken wing over here I heard him say before hanging up the phone. I shook my head and smiled. Crazy little devil I said to myself.

Wake up girl! We gotta leave to go to the airport in an hour. Aj's coming home today you know Nadean said. I know, I know I grumbled. You are feeling ok? Nadean asked. You look terrible. I'm fine I said getting out of bed. I walked up to the mirror and saw what Nadean was talking about. The truth was I felt as bad as I looked. I didn't know what as wrong with me. But besides that, I was going to see my baby again for the first time in two months so I managed to get myself ready and we left. When we got to the airport, I spent most of the time waiting for Aj and the guys in the bathroom. I threw up so much, I thought I would turn inside out. Flight 564 will be arriving in five minutes I heard over the loud speaker. Urgh! That's Aj's flight I said stumbling out of the bathroom. Are you sure you're ok? Nadean asked. Dean I'm fine, I said. People started coming out of the plane. I go greet the guys, Nadean said. She waddled over to the gate and came back a few minutes later chatting with Brian. Hey B. Wassup I said getting up to hug Brian. Well, geeze Angelle, I smell that bad, you're turning green, Brian said. Shut up Brian, I said sitting back down. Now I felt even worst. I had a monster headache, my stomach hurt and I felt so nauseous. I heard Aj's voice in the distance, I couldn't wait to see my baby, but I could hardly see. I could still hear Aj's voice in the distance, and then I opened my eyes and realized that, he was right in front of me. Everything was blurred. Aj? When did you get triplet brothers? I said. I didn't even know what I was saying. She's delusional, I heard him say. Baby, I'm fine I said trying to get up, but somehow my legs didn't seem to work. Aj lifted me up and carried me out of the airport.

I opened my eyes and looked around. I was in my room, and I didn't know how I got there. The last thing I could remember was the smell of Aj's cologne. Aj walked into my room. I was totally shocked. Aj what are you doing here? Your suppose to be in California. Baby, we came back today. Remember you and Nadean came to the airport. No, we didn't, I just woke up I replied. But then I started to remember. Oh shit! I don't believe I made a fool of myself in public. Angelle, you were sick, you couldn't help it. What would make you so sick anyway? Oh, Nadean and I had tacos last night for dinner. Baby, you passed out, I don't think tacos could make you that sick, Aj said. Nadean cooked them, I replied. Nough said, Aj said. Kept getting sick and I didn't know why. The only good thing is that it wasn't as bad as at the airport. Geeze, Angelle you're taking up all my bathroom time, Nadean joked. You want bathroom time, use your own bathroom I joked back. I really don't know what could be making me so sick. Maybe its Aj Nadean replied. What do you mean? I asked. You think I'm allergic to him. No, I'm not saying that Nadean said. If you were allergic to him, he could have never gotten you pregnant. Excuse me? I asked. That's not possible. Don't you guys have sex? Nadean asked. Yeah, I replied. Well then how is it not possible? Oh my God! How could I be pregnant I said. Maybe it's just an ulcer, I said. That would explain me being sick and feeling nauseous all the time. Nadean laughed. If it were an ulcer, you would have a huge hole in your stomach, she said. This can't be happening,
now. I said. When I got back for the doctor's I left myself fall in the couch. I called Nadean. Well Dean your right, I'm pregnant, I said. Well I know that we do everything together, but damn don't you think it is going too far, Nadean said. So how far along are you? Three months I replied. How are you feeling? You ok with all this? Nadean asked. I don't know I said.  It's not like I don't want to keep the baby; it's just that it's still real early in our relationship. We haven't even been going out for a year and I'm pregnant. What if we break up? Then I'm still attached to him for life just like I am with Justin. Sorry girl, I can't help you with this one, Nadean said. I picked up the phone and dialed Aj's number. Happy Birthday baby, I said when he answered the phone. Thanks Angelle. You are coming over today? You know it I replied. I gotta give you your birthday present and I have something to tell you. All right baby, I can't wait, but I gotta go jump in the shower, me and the guys had a late night basketball game and I fell asleep as soon as I got home. Ok baby, I said laughing. I'll let you go, bye. I spent the whole day getting ready for the special night I had planned for Aj's birthday. I went to Party City to buy balloon. I went Pathmark to buy whipped cream, strawberries and other "naughty foods". I went to Baskin Robins to buy a cake. I went to Victoria's Secret to buy well you know. And I went to a few other stores. I shopped and shopped for all the things that I new would make Aj's birthday perfect. When I was done, I was totally wiped out. I went home and flopped into my favorite chair. I rested for a while and then went to change and headed to Aj's house. When I got there, I got my key out and opened the door. What I saw when I walked through the door would change everything. I stood in the doorway shocked as Aj's ex girlfriend got her things and
squeezed through the door passed me. My eyes began to water. We both just stood there staring at each other.   can't believe you did this to me, I said. You know how I feel cheating. Baby, I am so sorry, she seduced me I, I You know what, Happy Birthday Aj I said. Letting the balloons fly away. Happy Birthday Aj I said opening the box and smashing his birthday cake on the floor. Happy Birthday I said as I took out all the contents out of the bags and breaking, and ripping and spilling them all over the floor. I walked to the door, turned around and said. Oh yeah, by then way, I'm pregnant. Happy Birthday Aj. I went home and ran to my room, threw myself on my bed and began to cry. Nadean walked in. Angelle what's wrong? What are you doing home? I walked in on Aj with his ex on top of him on the stairs. I said sitting up in bed. Awh girl I'm so sorry Nadean replied hugging me. I don't believe he did this to me. He knows that I don't tolerate cheating after what Justin did to me. Oh God, it's like history is repeating itself. I don't believe my mom was right. I can't have a serious relationship with a member of a boy band. They have thousands of girls screaming their names every day, how could they just settle for one. I don't know Angelle. He really seemed to love you, Nadean replied. Well I guess is just as good an actor as he is a singer, I said.
