Sweet Kisses: Chapter 3

"Who's the chick you were following around like a lost dog at rehearsal, Nick?" Brian threw up a shot and I listened as it SWOOSHED through the net. I grabbed the rebound.
"She's not just any chick, Brian. Her name is Elizabeth, or rather, Lizzy, she's 19 and she's been part of our crew for three years." I bricked a shot, and Brian grabbed the ball as it flew off the rim.
"Three years? I've never seen her before!" I stole the ball from Brian and called it a game. We sat down on the bleachers of the deserted gym.
"That's what she said. She got pissed off at me cause I tried to be friendly even though I had never once said a word to her before. I don't know, man. I think I see her point." I grabbed the Gatorade bottle from Brian and guzzled the last of it.
"You like her." He said, simply.
"Why do you say that?"
"Cause if you didn't, you wouldn't have gone to such a great extent of trying to apologize for being rude for three years. I saw you following her around after rehearsal, pestering her with questions that she refused to answer." He grabbed the ball from my hands and got up from the bleachers, making his way out the door. "I have one thing to say about her."
"And what's that?"
"Go for it, Nick. Just go for it."
