Sweet Kisses: Chapter 1
Story by Daisy
It was the tight silk dress with the low scoop neck that rested on her thighs. Crimson -colored and skin-tight down to the waist, that silk dress. That was my reason. As soon as I saw her, I knew that I had to have her, no matter the cost. Took me less than five minutes to get the courage up to ask her to dance. I wanted her so bad, yet I didn't even know her name.
"Hey!" I said, walking up to the beautiful brunette. "Are you alone? I mean, do you have a date?" I was shouting over the loud music at the club.
Her shoulder length hair bobbed as she shook her head no, flashing me a beyond gorgeous smile. Her green eyes were shining bright in the dimly lit club.
"Do you wanna dance?" She never really answered me, just took my hand and led me to the dance floor. I could tell right away that she was one of those girls who knew what she wanted, when she wanted it, and knew that no one could refuse her. We danced every song for the next two hours and by the end of the night, I had a name, a phone number, and an address.
"Clarisse Ann." I was awed at the sound of her sophisticated name as I was telling the guys about my
rendezvous later on the next day.
"Sounds sexy. Did you get her number?" AJ asked me, who had been listening intently to my story.
"Yup! And an address!"
Thing is, it didn't take me long to find out who this Clarisse Ann really was. Sure, she was beautiful and sexy, and I must say, knows just how to please a guy, but she was, to say the least, a bit of a bitch. She was snobby, rude, and ran all over me. The guys always teased me about being whipped.
But I knew that this was my chance with one of the most beautiful women that I had ever crossed paths with. I couldn't dump her. Or could I?
"Nicky, baby," her voice was uptight as we talked over the phone a year and a half since that night at the club. "I just can't have a relationship with someone who lives so far away and that never seems to pay any attention to me at all. I mean, I don't even see myself in the picture of your life!"
"What are you talking about, CA? I mean, damn girl, I call you nearly every hour and I've flown you to almost every single award show that we've been to! What else do you want from me?"
"I want to be with you 24/7, Nick!" Her voice was high pitched and whiny. Then I heard her take a deep breath and she said calmly, "I want you to choose. Me
or your career."
I didn't say anything for a while. "Nick? Hello?"
"I'm still here," was all I could say. I couldn't believe that she was asking me to choose. "You know, I just can't do that."
"What do you mean, you can't do that?" She was angry and she didn't even try to hide it. "I want you to do it and I want you to do it now!"
"Well, baby, I'll just have to get back to you. I'll tell you my decision later. At least let me sleep on it for a while and let me think everything through." I didn't wait for her answer. "I gotta go, baby. Bye." I hung up quickly, not waiting for her to say good-bye.
"Something just went down and I wanna know what it is!" Brian had been sitting near me while I was on the phone.
"She gave me an ultimatum." He stared at me blankly. "She said to choose between her and my career."
"Damn!" He dragged the word out. "What did you say?"
"I think you were close enough to hear." I sat down on the couch in my living room where me and B-Rok had been playing video games and threw a pillow over my face. "I can't believe she would do that!"
"Nick, you've been saying for a long time what a bitch she was. Just dump her ass!"
"But she's gorgeous!"
"There are other gorgeous ladies out there. You'll find one, I promise." I took the pillow away from my face and gave Brian an I-Need-More-Advice-Than-That look. He understood. "Just avoid any phone calls from her until you finally decide what to do. Take your time and don't let her rush you. Mingle with the ladies while you're at it. See if she's really the one you wanna tie yourself down to."
"Thanks, Brok." I gave him a five and we continued on with our video games.

I had been avoiding Clarisse Ann's phone calls for nearly two weeks now and I still didn't know what I wanted to do. In my heart I knew, but I was afraid of losing the beautiful girl that waited at home in Florida for me. I had only put one part of Brian's advice into action and since nothing was working out, I decided to put the second piece into action.
It was rehearsal. There was a group of crew workers standing by the coffee machine. It was early, five A.M., and we had been there for an hour. All of the crew
girls were at the coffee machine. I took a deep breath and made my way towards them, repeating Brian's advice in my head the whole time. Geez, when was the last time I approached a group of chicks?
"Hello, ladies." I made my voice casual yet confident as I grabbed a cup and poured myself some coffee. Before I had even finished pouring my cup, every one of the girls left. Well, one stayed. "What's up with them? Do I still have morning breath?" I asked the remaining girl.
"Well, we've been working with you guys for three years now and you were too stuck up your ass to notice us before. You would always walk right past us, never even muttering a simple hello, just grabbing the towel or bottle of water that we offered to you. Why the hell should we stay and talk to you now? You're no better than any one of us." She tossed her cup in the small trashcan that stood beside the table and walked away from me.
"Okay, so maybe that didn't go too well!" I muttered to myself, finishing the last of my coffee and also tossing the empty Styrofoam cup into the trash can on my way back to the stage.
