If
You Knew What I Knew:
Chapter 10
Brian
“But...but why?” I couldn’t
think of why someone would want to kill, no murder, such a great guy.
“I don’t know.” Kevin looked down at the ground and
shoved his hands in his pockets. “But
I do know something more than I wanted to know.”
“What are you talking about?” I looked him straight in
the eye. “Do you know who did this?!”
Kevin looked at me slowly, his eyes filled with pain. He opened his mouth to speak but was interrupted as Howie and
AJ walked into the room.
“Oh my gosh,” Howie’s mouth dropped open as he stared
at Nick’s body. “I can’t
believe it. It couldn’t be.”
I looked at Nick. His
back was turned towards us and I was glad.
There was no way that I could stand to look at his face.
People in movies that are hanging always give me this creepy feeling.
The scary part was, this wasn’t a movie.
“You should be one to talk, Howie,” Kevin spat out his
name as if it had an awful taste in his mouth.
“What?” Both Howie and I said at the same time.
“You know exactly what I’m talking about!” Kevin was
angry and none of us knew why. Well,
Howie supposedly did.
“Kevin,” Howie raised his hands as if to show he were
innocent. “I have no idea what
you’re talking about.”
“You have no idea,” Kevin mocked, making his way to
Howie. “Bull!”
And then I saw him do something that I’ve never seen him do
before.
He jumped Howie and beat him to the floor.
