Chapter 2: Don't Want You Back

Brian

I loved free days because they were practically the only time that I got to spend with Mellie. I love my Melanie so much! It's like we were made to be! So today, I decided to do something special. Something I feel that we're ready for.
"Mellie, baby, how about we go spend a day in the park?" I asked, reaching for her hand. It fit perfectly in mine.
"Alright!" She leaned up to kiss me. Her kisses were always so sweet, so genuine. "Oh gosh, I forgot my purse inside! I'll be right back!"
I waited for Mellie for a minute. I was about to walk in after her to see if she had found her purse yet when she walked back out of the studio, making her way towards me.
"Ready?" I asked, reaching for her hand once more.
"Ready!" We walked to the park since it was such a peaceful day. Plus, we didn't have to worry about getting mobbed or anything because it was a weekday and all the kiddies would be in school.
We talked all the way to the park, bringing up things like our future.
"What do you think is gonna happen, Bri?" She asked, snuggling further into my arm which was now wrapped around her.
"I don't know." I sighed. "I really don't know. But I can tell you where I hope we'll be." Her eyes met mine and I think that we both knew.
"What do you think about kids?" She asked, pausing before saying "kids".
"Well, they're cool with me, I guess. I'm just not ready for that right now." We walked around a lake silently, both wrapped up in our own thoughts.
I could just picture our future. We would be living in a big, nice house with about four kids. They would all be really cute. There would be three boys and one girl. I don't know what I would name them yet.
I decided something right then. I knew what I wanted to do. The only thing I didn't know was how Mellie would react.
"Hey, let's go back to the hotel," I said, hoping, praying that she would get my unsaid invitation.
"Alright," she said quietly.
We made our way back to the hotel room. I led her inside my room and closed the door, making sure that it was locked. As soon as we got in, Mellie started to giggle. I didn't know if it was a nervous giggle, an anxious giggle, or an excited giggle, but I really didn't care. She was giggling.
I cupped her face in my hands and kissed her mouth, gently at first, then gradually going deeper into the kiss. She had her hands on my chest, then moved them down to take off my shirt. I did the same to her.
We eventually reached the bed. But that's where this story stops. You don't get to know everything!
* * * * * *

It was about nine o'clock at night when I woke up. Mellie was still cuddled up in my arms with a peaceful look on her face. I kissed her forehead softly so I wouldn't wake her up. I put my arm underneath my head and sat there, thinking. About what? Well, to be honest, about what happened a couple hours before.
I loved Mellie so much! I know that she's gonna be the one that I spend the rest of my life with, but right now, I'm not ready for marriage. I don't know if she is either. Maybe I'll ask her about it.
