~~*Chapter Three*~~
Brian shut the book, tears overflowing his cheeks. He was sad, and then angry. How could fans do this to Nick? And even worse, why did they let him see it? Brian wiped his eyes with the back of his arm. Brian sighed and all of a sudden, tears came back. He buried his head into one of Nick's pillows and sobbed, Nick's journal cradled in his arms.
"Nick...why did you have to leave like that? Why did you have to die so brokenhearted?" Brian sobbed loudly. He'd never cried so much.
"Brian, honey? Are you okay?" his wife, Leighanne, entered the bedroom.
Brian lifted his head, his eyes swollen. "I can't..." he stuttered.
Leighanne plopped on the bed beside him. "Oh, honey, it's alright." She wrapped her arms around him and made shushing noises. Tears ran down her face as well as Brian cried into her shoulder.
"W-why?" Brian mumbled.
"I don't know why, honey. I don't know," Leighanne whispered gently. The couple sat there cradled in each other's arms until Brian lifted his head."
"I'm okay now," he said finally. Leighanne wiped away his tears before wiping her own eyes.
"What's that?" Leighanne pointed to the book Brian was holding.
"Nick's journal," Brian answered softly. "I was reading it and I got a little emotional."
"Nick kept a journal?" Leighanne laughed a little, despite the moment.
Brian laughed too. "Yeah. He said that I told him to, but I don't remember saying that. Do you wanna read it?"
"Sure," Leighanne
snuggled beside Brian as he opened the book once again.
