The Goose, SchH III, NPL 1, OFA

Some of my favorite things to do... The mutts and I do some pretty neat stuff together. We play in a couple different dogs sports. One is Schutzhund. It has three phases: tracking, obedience and protection. It's fun yet requires precision and animation.

The other dog game we like to play is NAPD (National Association of Protection Dogs). It's only about 5 years old but is becoming very popular especially for the Personal Protection dog trainers. One of the few dog sports (if not only) where breed is not an issue and in fact, all breeds are warmly welcomed!

NAPD is a two phase sport of obedience and protection. It's very different in the fact you never know what you might have to do or come across in either phase. In preparing for this type of event, challenging the dog with new and interesting distractions becomes a way of life. If you decide to become active with this sport anything and everything becomes fair game as consideration for training.

K9Pro Sports looks like another fun sport, but I don't have any personal experience with this one yet.
