I hope you enjoy wandering through my
realm of poetry ~ some I have written
and some that I admire..

A few years back I was talking to a man about life in general when he stopped and looked at me quite strangely because of a comment I had made about a problem we were discussing. He asked me "Who Are You?". After we had finished talking, I was sitting watching a TV program and I started wondering about the question the man had asked me. The following is as close to an answer that I could find in me.


Who Am I?

Who Am I you ask?
I am not a rich man
nor am I a poor man, beggar man, thief
But I could have been

Who Am I you ask?
I am not dumb nor am I a rocket scientist
or an airplane pilot, mechanic, auto maker,
bank teller nor a store owner, a TV star,
or a philosopher
But I could have been

Who Am I you ask?
I was born white, so I am not black, red,
yellow or any of the other beautiful colors
that make up this world in which we live
But I could have been

Who Am I you ask?
I am not a racist nor a bigot, a woman hater,
a murderer, a killer of animals or an
abuser of children
nor have I been named an evil of society
But I could have been

Who Am I you ask?
I could have been a lot of things in my life,
too many to name in this short page or
I could have been none of them..
but I will tell you this about me in so much
as you have asked the question:

Who Am I ?

I am ME! Or I could be YOU!
