Charmaine as Man

Charmaine Sheh Sze Man~ Man Mun Yuen Lan
Charmaine Sheh Sze Man

First, promise not to kill me for this review. Promise? If you can’t promise me this, I suggest you DON’T read my review.
Hahaha…jokes aside, I am disappointed they got Charmaine Sheh for this role. For all her beauty and winning smile, she can’t act convincingly. I first saw Charmaine in Time Off, and I was like, “They call HER an actress? Man, I can do better.” And THEN, I saw her in Flying Fox. Oh wow, I love her character Miu Yoke Lan. But Charmaine? A lot better than Time Off, but still…Mind you, I do admit that she has improved a lot, but she needs a lot more work to make it in the Hong Kong entertainment industry. As Man in DIF4, Charmaine is just not emotional enough. Seeing your best friend and fiance together, and the best you can do is: “I’m gonna break up with him…” and two tears. Come on! Emotion! The realisation of betrayal! Where did all that go? The character Man was supposed to be strong one, but Charmaine just made her look like a sissy. Her oh-so-sweet voice really gets on my nerves sometimes. Her voice remained the SAME throughout the whole show with only rise and fall. Puh-leese…really! At least the on-screen chemistry was quite good with Sunny. Overall, Man was portryed only a OK by Charmaine. All the same, I give Charmaine an A for the effort, and a B+ for the improvement. Honestly, as a newcomer, she deserved credit. If she can just keep on improving, she’ll make it. I’m sure she will.

My rating for Charmaine as Man Mun Yeun Lan: 6.5 out of 10
