(Child picks a friend-when all are in the middle
pretend the web breaks and all fall down)

The zoo holds many animals inside
(make a circle with your hands and peer inside)
So unlatch the doors and open wide.
(open your hands wide)
Elephants, tigers, zebras and bears,
(hold up one finger for each animal)
Are some of the animals you will find there.

See the animals, see the animals,
At the zoo, at the zoo.
Elephants and tigers, lions and seals,
Monkeys too, monkeys too.

This is the way the elephant goes.
(clasp hands together and swing like an elephant nose)
With a curly trunk instead of a nose.
The buffalo, all shaggy and fat.
Has two sharp horns in place of a hat.
(make pretend horns on head)
The hippo with his mouth so wide
Let's see what's inside.
(hands together and peek inside)
The wiggly snake upon the ground
Crawls along without a sound.
(weave hands back and forth)
But monkey see and monkey do is the funniest
animal in the zoo.
(thumbs in ears and wiggly fingers)
