TI-83 BASIC Programing Introduction

Introduction

The structure of this tutorial is simple. The lessons will teach you about certain functions. The lesson then will show you how to put it together in a program. There will also be some lessons containing optional excercises just for practice. You may do the exercises if you feel you need more practice at it, or you may skip it. Good luck. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions or concerns.

Creating a New Program

CREATING A NE PROGRAM ON THE TI-83We are now going to cover how to create a new program. We will use this for every lesson, so if you don't already know how to create one I suggest you keep on reading. To create a new program, press the PRGM key on your calculator. Then hit the left arrow key until to move to the NEW menu. Select your only choice 1:Create New. Now give a name to your program. There is no need to press ALPHA since it is already set for you. Your name has to be no more than 8 characters long, using only letters and numbers, no special characters. Once you have your name set, press ENTER and you have started to create a new program. Read the first lesson to learn how to begin writting to this program. You should also read the following EDITING AN ALREADY EXISTING PROGRAM since it might help you in the future.

Editing An Already Exisisting Program

To edit a program is rather simple. Simply press the PRGM button, then press the right arow key to move to the EDIT menu. From there select the program you want to edit.
