Oda Yuji's new movie to be out in Feb 2006!
It's his first movie in more than two years, after casting in 「踊る大捜査線 THE MOVIE 2」.
Apparently when Fuji TV decided to turn the newly published novel, 県庁の星 into a movie, the first actor that came to mind is Oda Yuji. Yuji himself also expressed keen interest after reading the novel ^^
The storyline seems to be about a high flyer in the civil service, who encounter a lady (play by 柴咲コウ) and started to view life differently there after...

Now I know why Yuji went to Africa! He was there for the elephants. keekee.... TBS new 2-hr documentary - 「織田裕二アフリカ大自然スペシャル 象物語」. It'll be telecasted 18May2005, 9-10:54pm. He gave an interview on this TV special.
Another piece of news: Yuji's latest CM - Asahi beer. The series of CM were shot in Australia ^^v

Surprise~~~ According to Yuji's official site, his latest single, "Last Christmas/Wake Me Up GO! GO!" (Yuji Oda with Butch Walker) has been awarded Japan Golden Disc Award! Wow~~~ Congra!!
And, Yuji was in Paris in Fec for the shooting of his second JCB CM. The CM is now on air ^^

Fuji TV will release "Last Christmas" DVD boxset on 20Apr05 (Wed). Price = 23,940円. Interested party can pre-order from Amazon Japan. I hope NG shots and cast interviews will be included as bonus.

Oda Yuji's latest work - Last Christmas single and OST. Both will be released under Sony International, (not by Oda Yuji's recording company, UJ). 
The single will be out earlier on 03Nov04. It consists of both the opening and theme songs of Oda Yuji's autumn TV drama, Wham!'s "Last Christmas" and "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go". Oda Yuji deuted with the producer, Butch Walker
The Original Sound Track will be released on 10Nov04.

New Oda Yuji CM: 「Change! ゆうパック」 on air this month. 「ゆうパック」is a domestic postal service provided by Japan Post Office.
And more on Yuji's new drama: He gave an interview to Fuji TV station on the drama. In the interview, he explained why he is doing romance drama again after 13 years, and what he thinks of the character, 健次 (Kenji).

Fuji TV did a report on Oda Yuji's "Last Christmas" yesterday.
Apparently Oda Yuji isn't the first Japanese artiste to cover Wham! "Last Christmas". The first was 松田聖子 (Matsuda Seiko), followed by 古内東子. 沢田知可子& KATSUMI did a duet. Now 織田裕二 is dueting with Butch Walker, the first male duet version.
And 織田裕二 wrote on his official BBS, on 22Sep about his trip to New Zealand.
Yap, 織田裕二 was on location in Queentown, New Zealand for "Last Christmas". Go to Last Christmas official site to watch the drama CM.

No 1: Oda Yuji will be back on the small screen this Oct!
Yeah! Oda Yuji will take up the male leading role in Fuji Monday drama series 「ラストクリスマス( Last Christmas)」starting 11Oct (every Mon, 9pm). It has been 13 years since his last 純愛 drama 「東京 ラブストーリー(Tokyo Love Story)」. He'll play 健次 (Kenji), a 36-year-old single salaryman working at a major sport equipment company. Being a cheerful man, Kenji is well received by both his sub-ordinates and bosses.
No 2: He'll be singing the theme and opening songs for the drama!
What's more?! The songs are covers of Wham! hits -- "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go" and "Last Christmas". According to Oda Yuji's message left on his official BBS, the single will be produced by Butch Walker.

The DVD of the box office hit "Odoru Daisousa Sen Movie 2" will be released on 02Jun04(Wed). The revenue last year was a hefty 17.35bn yen!
There will be 2 versions: the 1-disc red packaging (4,500yen excl tax) and the 2-disc white packaging (3,980yen excl tax).

The International version of "Bayside Shakedown 2" will be shown in Japan starting from 20Dec03. After which, there are plans for international distribution.
This director-cut international version is 15 min shorter than that of the original. In addition, a simple, white-background poster (with names and credits written in English) will replace the origninal red-background one.

Story
There was a murder at Odaiba. To investigate the case, a special investigation team was set up at Wanga Police Station. A lady, Okita headed the team with Muroi as her assistant. Naturally, Aoshima and his colleagues were being ordered to do the dirty work of gathering infomation on the case. However, before they could solve the case, another person was murdered....

Fuji TV held a press meeting yesterday at their Odabai headquarter to promote its up-coming movie, "Rhyme and Police Movie 2". This movie is part of the celebration of the TV station 45th anniversary.
The 1st movie was a hit which attracted some 7 million people to the cinema and earned the TV station a total of 10.1 billions yen of boxoffice.
Besides the original cast members, Koizumi Kotaro (PM Koizumi's elder son) has been roped in to play a role of an operator in the movie.
During the press conference, Oda Yuji, started the ball rolling by sharing his thoughts on the movie. He said that he is delighted to be able to play "Aoshima Shunsaku" again. However, he is at a lost how to inject new life into the character.

19Nov02 Oda Yuji appeared on a radio talk show - Tokyo FM Spain Saka on 16Nov02, to promote his latest single "Son na mon da rou".

His latest single "Son na mon da rou" is on sale now (click on the link to view part of the MTV). It's the theme song for his current TV drama "Mayo naka no Ame". The lyrcis and music are composed by ASKA.
Oda Yuji played a talented surgeon in "Mayo naka no Ame".
His next single, "We Can Be Heros" is scheduled for release on 08Jan03. This is the theme song for his movie - "TRY". It's a collaboration among Japanese, Korean and Hong Kong film makers. And, the main location for the movie is Shanghai, China.
A photo book will be released on Oda Yuji's 35th birthday (ie 13Dec02). It's titled "Oda Yuji in TRY".
