EQUIVALENT MEASURES
In preparing foods our recipes often give us a measurement that we are not familiar with without experimenting. Such as, how many saltine crackers make 1 cup fine crumbs. Well the answer to that is listed below with many others. I hope one or many can help you in preparing fantastic dishes.
Crab, in shell- 1 pound = 3/4 to 1 cup flaked
Crackers:
Saltines - 28 crackers = 1 cup finely crushed
Graham Crackers - 14 squares = 1 cup fine crumbs
Chocolate Wafers -19 wafers = 1 cup fine crumbs
Vanilla Wafers -22 wafers = 1 cup finely crushed

Honey a 12oz. jar by weight is equal to an 8 oz. liquid measuring cup of honey
Lemon:
1 med. size = 2 to 3 Tb.of juice& 2 tsp. grated rind
4 med. size = 1 cup of juice
Lettuce 1 pound head = 6 1/4 cups torn pieces
Macaroni 4 ounces (1 cup) = 2 1/2 cups cooked
Meat Raw 1 pound = about 3 cups diced & cooked
Chicken Raw 4 to 5 pounds = about 3 cups diced & cooked
Milk, evaporated:
5 1/3 oz. can = 2/3 cup
13 oz. can = 1 5/8 cups
Milk, sweetened condensed:
14 oz. can = 1 1/4 cups
15 oz can = 1 1/3 cups
Marshmallow, miniature 1/2 pound = 4 1/2 cups
Mushrooms 3 cups raw (8 oz.) = 1 cup sliced & cooked
Nuts:
Chopped 1 ounce = 1/3 cup
Almonds 1 pound = 1 to 1 3/4 cups nutmeats
Almonds shelled 1 pound = 3 1/2 cups nutmeats
Peanuts 1 pound = 2 1/4 cups nutmeats
Peanuts shelled 1 pound = 3 cups
Pecans 1 pound = 2 1/2 cups nutmeats
Pecans shelled 1 pound = 4 cups nutmeats
Walnuts 1 pound = 1 3/4 cups nutmeats

Oats, quick cooking 1 cup = 1 3/4 cups cooked

Long Grained 1 cup = 3 to 4 cups cooked
Pre-cooked 1 cup = 2 cups cooked
Shrimp raw in shell 1 pound = 2 cups (3/4lb) cleaned & cooked
Spaghetti 7 ounces = about 4 cups cooked
Strawberries 1 quart = 4 cups sliced
Sugar:
Brown 1 pound = 2 1/4 cups packed firm
Powdered 1 pound = 3 1/2 cups unsifted
Granulated 1 pound = 2 cups
