Chocolate Turtles
144 small pecan halves 36 light caramels 1 cup chocolate-flavored candy coatings
1. Butter 2 cookie sheets. 2. Arrange pecan halves in groups of 4 to look like a star (for each turtle) on both prepared pans. 3. Unwrap caramels and center one caramel atop each cluster of nuts. 4. Bake in a 325 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes (until caramels soften). 5 Remove from the oven and flatten each caramel with a buttered spatula. 6. Place pans on a wire rack and cool slightly. 7. Melt the candy coatings in the microwave and add the melted coatings on top of each turtle with the spatula or a spoon. Allow to harden.
