A year has passed since the nuclear bombing. Everyone has changed physically and mentally. All of these survivors lost many of their families.
It has been a year and everyone was waiting to open the door. Nancy began to open the door. She was so shocked at what she was seeing. She didn't even recognize her surroundings, she felt lost. It was no longer Jamaica, Queens. It was just rubble.
Everyone began to walk around. They began seeing things that they once knew.
Once they started walking, they found a car. Mr.Lynn tried to start the car. The engine made a rumble and it started. Everyone got in the car and they began to drive around, to look for any survivors or any food.
They looked around in amazement. The world they once knew was no longer the same. they went from place to place, and door to door looking for others survivors.
They needed some food. Mr.Scott and Mr.Lynn were trying to think of what to do next. Ms. candy remembered that there was a store about one mile away, so they drove around memories of their past lives started coming back.
They found the store. There was so much dirt and rubble. They began to search inside the store and found some food and some water. While they were eating, they began to hear some noises in the basement of the store. There were 5 survivors.
They talked and they pondered and decided to look around for more surviors. Now there were 10 survivors. They foundan old hotel still up and decided to sleep.
While sleeping, they were all startled by a sound. It sounded like something from a horror film or freak show. Ms.Candy looked out the window and saw a group of people who were standing slumped over. She was a bit frightened. She quickly got the others. Mr.Lynn and Nancy saw that something wrong. They realized the people were zombies.
After they noticed that something was wrong, they gathered the little belongings they had. They all ran to the car. The zombies were following them and coming closer. They hurried to get in the car. They then noticed Nancy was missing. She had gone back to get the picture of her mother. The zombies were so close to her.
The car started and Mr.Lynn grabbed Nancy. They drove away while the zombies were following them. They couldn't believe that this was happening to them.
They drove away and never looked back. They finally left the city they once called home and once loved. No one ever talked about that day again. It was like it never happened. They all became each other's family.
