The Heart of A Fool
By john cody
Welcome to the heart of a fool.
See how I’ve arranged each memory In this room.
Have a seat upon a tear that I use instead of chairs.
I have no need for furniture in here
These rooms are filled with emptiness.
The windows are draped with loneliness.
Within the room I hope to share is where these
Eyes stand and stare.
With hope of a love that
could live there.
These lips that tremble in the night and
These arms that long to hold another tight.
So I seek in hope that some day I’ll find
A heart as true as mine.
If I could but have…one wish…one hope…
One dream…that would come true.
These lips would speak and say…woman you are
