GERBIL HOUSING

       Our gerbils live in a 10 gallon glass tank (it is recommended to have 5 gallons of  space per gerbil). Their bedding is notebook paper, and they sleep in a square tissue box padded with tissues. We give them white, unscented tissues (without lotion), either Kleenex Ultra-Soft or Puffs Ultra Soft. Their bed is softer than ours! Sometimes they like to sleep in their tinted plastic magic-cube, which we also pad with tissues. They love to shred tissues and  notebook paper. We also give them very hard cardboard  and layers of paper plates to chew. We change and sterilize their cage twice a week.
