Dad had some challenges with the patio. As I mentioned earlier, it had rained seemingly endlessly right before we got started on the project. Close to the house, the ground was ok, but at the edges of the proposed patio, the ground was still squelchy wet, in addition, the drop in grade was steeper than it should be. We ended up opting not to take the pavers out to the original dimensions, but instead, filled in around the edge with sand and mulch. It may be possible to finish it off properly later in the year.
