    SUMMARY

Hello, my name is *********. I'm an IT professional who served in the United States Navy.
My goals are to provide quality IT administration and support in the environment in which I work. To accomplish this goal, I will use the years of  IT experience, along with the education I have received.  My other goal is to continue to acquire more knowledge through experience and education.

    COMPUTER EXPERIENCE

Windows NT 4.0 System Administrator - United States Navy (Top Secret Clearance) March 1996 - Sept 2000

As the System Administrator onboard the USS Monterey, I was responsible for the following:

    EDUCATION/TRAINING PERSONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Planned and implemented the purchase of 20 PalmVAs.  Distributed and installed these for the officers at my command, ensuring the departments workload was easily tracked.  Trained all users on the operation of these Palm VAs, and took necessary actions to keep all software installed up to date.

Led a team of 3 NT/LAN Administrators in the install/update of more than 40 new computers to our ommandAs LAN.  Ran all necessary fiber-optic cable, ensured link up with hubs/server, installed all software and checked for network operability/connectivity.  This action resulted in our command being more combat ready for the Mediterranean operations.

Worked with a team of civilian network engineers to install the new IT21 system on our ship before the March 1999 deployment to the Mediterranean Sea.  This revised IT21 system, enhanced the security measures Of NT4.0. This install, which generally takes 2 weeks to implement, test, and finalize, was done in 5 days, saving the NAVY an enormous amount of money in contract costs.  Without this required IT21 update, The USS Monterey would not have been fit for sea, and thousands of man-hours/millions of dollars would have been squandered.

Planned and implemented the purchase of 25 Panasonic CF-47 Laptops for use of our tactical team during their tour at my command.  Some of these were directly used by US Navy Seals and our tactical team to gather information in the take-down of a Russian Tanker.  All Top Secret or below software that was installed on these were done by my team.

Effectively motivated, trained and developed my team to become better LAN Administrators by instilling confidence, cooperation and team-building attributes in all of them.  Led by example when I started MCSE classes at Old Dominion University.  Gathered information learned there, and placed shared folders (A+ MCSE, Etc.) on the LAN so my team could learn more about networking at their own pace and become better administrators for our command. This action ultimately led to them being more respected for their skills, and better evaluations leading to promotions followed.

    PERSONAL PROFILE

I always strive to offer the best customer service possible.  I am a self-motivated, goal orientated, result driven individual. I take great pride in my work and I'm always willing to accept more responsibility. Right now, I am finished with my re-enlistment in the Navy as an E-5.  I am currently enrolled at Old Dominion University investing my time towards MCSE certification to further enhance my IT career.
