FEAR MONGERING:   spreading discreditable,   misrepresentative information designed to induce fear and apprehension.
Harris Coulter Harris Coulter has formal training in education from Columbia.  Mr. Coulter has, however, ZERO training in the health sciences, ZERO health research experience, and has NEVER published in any scientific journal.  As such he has no standing or credibility in the scientific community.  Coulter's other main activity in recent years has been in homeopathy.
See the following:
  Position paper on homeopathy
  "Homeopathy: the ultimate fake")
"Homeopathy and its kindred delusions" by Oliver Wendell Holmes

Mr. Coulter has authored at least two books bearing on supposed problems with immunization.   The first book (co-authored with Barbara Loe Fisher) was DPT: A Shot in the Dark in 1985.  Since then a multitude of additional studies and reviews have concluded overwhelmingly that, if anything, DPT immunization protects against SIDS!  A major 1999 study concluded the following:
"Epidemiological evidence indicates infants immunised against diphtheria, pertussis and tetanus (DPT) are at decreased risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS)."    REFERENCE
(Emp added)

The second book, from 1990, was entitled
Vaccination, Social Violence, and Criminality.  Herein Coulter lays all the social ills of society at the footstep of immunization.

Another book, while not directly related to immunization is AIDS and Syphilis-the hidden connection. Here Coulter claims HIV is harmless and that AIDS is really just Syphilis - treatable with   typhoid vaccine and penicillin !!!

In 1996 in response to a Usenet posting by Harris Coulter I posted a rebuttal.  He avoided engaging in a candid debate of the issues, choosing instead to post a website reply.   A website rebuttal to Coulter's misrepresentations is available.  CLICK HERE!

Coulter made one further notable exception for vaccines - himself !   He claims to have invented a cancer vaccine - known as VG-1000 - for which he promised great things, but for which he could never produce any credible supporting evidence.
