I'm not very good at talking about myself ... but here goes. I'm twenty-four years old and have lived in lovely Edinburgh (well, some of it's nice ...) for the last eight years. Before that I lived in Livingston, but don't hold it against me. I have the fabulous fortune (and yes, that's sarcasm) to work for the Royal Bank of Scotland in their sweat-shop ( or service centre as they call it) at scenic South Gyle, but I'm also a part-time postgraduate student, studying for an MA in History with the Open University. My undergraduate degree is in economic and social history, from Edinburgh. As well as that I do some freelance writing in my spare time, for publications that include SFX and Dreamwatch (big telefantasy mags), and have had a couple of bits and pieces published in books. Most of it's related to the sort of TV shows I'm a big fan of ..... Really cheesy 70s stuff like Doctor Who, The Tomorrow People, Blake's Seven, Star Trek etc. But I also do some `straight` book reviews .... And when I have five minutes I like to go to do all the usual sort of other stuff .. You know, read things, go to the flicks, go clubbing etc. Oh yes, and I'm fond of the odd pint of cider ... ( or six) If you're a regular in #scotland, you'll probably be aware of this ... I spend most of my spare cash on music .... I love all sorts, but the following are a few of my special favourites ..... (in no special order) All About Eve, Tori Amos, Alanis Morrisette, Marillion, Suede, Stone Roses, The Verve, Oasis, Pulp, Blur, Bernard Butler, Ian Brown, Republica, Ultrasound, Mansun, The Charlatans, The Sea Horses, The Beatles, Garbage, The Sundays, Teenage Fanclub, REM, Hue and Cry, Transvision Vamp, Radiohead, David Bowie, James, Portishead .... Oh all sorts really ....... Too much. To be honest ... I'll give most stuff a listen once or twice .... But I'm not too keen on anything too poppy or dance-y or metal ...... Well, that's all I can think of ...... For the moment |
