FAASSU
has never gone through with a Pilipino Cultural Night, something
that other schools around the state have done. While FAASSU has
had lofty goals in the past to start one, the program just never
left the ground. Rodney was serious about raising money this year.
So, we decided to hold two food sales during the month of March
(Asian Heritage Month) and our Island Fever Funkfest to help ourselves
with the cash flow... |

The
Asian-Pacific Islander Organization had some events of their own
for Asian Heritage Month. In the Warren Auditorium of Ives Hall,
we held our annual Asian Heritage Month, an event that has been
very successful in the past, as we were able to bring people like
Jocelyn Enriquez and One Voice to SSU. Joint operations between
FAASSU & APIO have even brought Kai to our school. This year,
it would be 3rd Avenue and Chain Reaction...

For the spring break, Josh and Jamie both invited me
to go with them and their friends to meet up with people they
know in San Diego. The plan was get a room in a hotel down in
La Jolla and then meet up with Jamie and Amy's friend, Amber,
who went to school with us here at Sonoma State. We had plans
to go out to the beach, bars, shopping centers, and go sight-seeing
around San Diego...
