SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE AND UNIVERSAL QI

Southern Hemisphere challenge

More than ever, the Chinese metaphysical society faces the challenge to understand why there is no difference in the way we obtain Xuan Kong Feng Shui charts for the Southern Hemisphere.

Let me just briefly show you why there is no difference between the Northern and Southern Hemisphere and also why there is no difference in how astrological systems obtain their types, e.g. Four Pillars of Destiny and Nine Star Ki, although in all examples used climate, season, temperature and moisture continue to play a vital role of importance, but in application, not in the technique of building charts.

There has evolved a clear controversy over recent years that seems to have reached its climax on the internet, where we have seen many articles appear debating the issue.

It is understandable that we may have a hard time dismissing the arguments presented by an author defending the difference.
It is equally understandable that we may then have a hard time dismissing the arguments presented by an author opposing the difference.

This is only natural, because both camps try to tackle the problem by taking the Five Transformations - as we came to know them in the western world - as their starting point.

Already in my classes in the Netherlands since 1997, but in a more definite way during classes in Brazil, June and July 2001, the problem was definitely tackled.

Classes in Brazil were 130 students, mostly practitioners and teachers, whom of course assumed they would hear yet another story from yet another teacher telling them there is no difference. Not only did we wipe away all arguments of the ‘difference’ doctrine, we also wiped away the ‘no difference’ arguments.

Both ‘difference’ and ‘no difference’ doctrines focus on non-issues. It is a non-argument to go with seasons when we need to explain Five Transformations.

Taking the Five Transformations literally and thus reasoning from the pattern and position of the sun, as well as the seasons, it may appear logic that we should allow adjustment for the Southern Hemisphere.

However, whenever we try to build our research around a hypothesis and this hypothesis is wrong, and also not adjusting our initial ideas to the latest insights, we can only arrive to false conclusions.

  • Although the Five Phases came to be associated with the seasons, they are not seasons.

  • To show Wu Xing through seasons and seasonal progression is just an analogy to explain astronomical dynamics.

  • Wu Xing in itself is non-existent as the only two elements in existence are Water and Fire.

  • Water and Fire do not point to H20 or actual physical Fire, as they point to earth magnetism.

  • The Five Transformations were found by astronomers observing the earth orbit around the sun, not hippies.

  • Establishing a Feng Shui situation we measure earth magnetic field, we do not use the sun pattern.

  • Basic Xuan Kong Feng Shui, Four Pillars of Destiny and Nine Star Ki deal with Longitude, not Latitude.

  • We measure the Feng Shui of a built structure by means of a magnetic needle.

  • This magnetic needle points to the source of magnetic energy, not the location of the sun.

  • Fire energy associated with the Ba Gua is not the sun, but just the earth’s magnetic Fire pole.

  • The source of this magnetic field is the magnetic North, not South on the Northern Hemisphere because the sun is found there at noon, not North on the Southern Hemisphere because the sun is found there at noon.

  • Feng Shui distinguishes between astronomical directions due to the sun and fixed stars, and directions due to magnetism.

  • The compass needle does not measure the sun or the stars, it measures earth magnetic field.

  • The sun is the most vital source of life energy, however its pattern is not the message in the Ba Gua, as even the sun answers to Universal Qi.

  • If in Feng Shui for the Southern Hemisphere we were to measure the sun pattern, the location of the sun or even consider the reversed movement of the seasons to be the reasoning behind finding house charts, we would not be measuring any source of magnetic energy.

  • The Ba Gua was based on the presumption of existence of earth energy having its source at the North magnetic pole.

  • We cannot change the location of the trigrams in the Bagua, because these do not show seasons but directional energies.
