Case II

We can look at another – again non historical - example, using presidential elections, to be held in a 4 Wood year in the month of June, a 4 Wood month.

The sitting president is a 9 Fire and one of his opponents is a 5 Earth.

We will see why according to Nine Star Ki, the sitting president is likely to loose his re-election and how the 5 Earth person will be elected. We would need to still consult the Pillars of Destiny charts of the people involved, for reason that the dynamics of this astrology have a lot to say in any outcome.

Here is the Luo Shu for the year and month of the elections.
At the time of election, the sitting president will reside in the 1 Water House, both for the year and month.
Although the general year Qi – 4 Wood – is favorable to his Fire energy, most likely the 1 Water House will come with some sort of loss. 1 is the lowest Qi.

 

We also note that 9 Fire is opposite 8 Earth, which we find in the 9 Fire House. 8 Earth is revolution and change, and it is built structures.

It is not sufficient to forecast loss, just by the fact that a Number resides in the 1 Water House.
First of all, the 1 Water House can bestow magnificent events just as well, and secondly, any House of the Luo Shu can only indicate certain probabilities. For events to actually happen, other implications are necessary, like a confirmned build up of events in recent months.

Also, there are many more ways in which to look at Luo Shu and destiny than presented here, but you’ll have a good idea on its proceedings.

If we take the 1 Water House as an indication for loss, however, we would not be satisfied with this declaration alone. When you tell your client that next year will come with a certain type of loss, in itself this does not mean much. Your client likes to hear what type of loss he should anticipate on. Therefore, we would very much like to be able to assess the type of loss and here is why we concentrate on opposite Numbers. Where you find a certain Number indicates particular events, opposite Numbers indicate how events may be coloured.

In case of 9 Fire residing in the 1 Water House, it finds the 8 Earth Star opposite in the 9 Fire House. 8 Earth in the 9 Fire House may be rather strong, because the Fire of the House engenders 8 Earth.

Having arrived to the Number opposite 9 Fire – 8 Earth -, we now take 8 Earth as our starting point and again relate it to its opposite Number, which is 9 Fire again.

           and cross refer following these steps.

1. 8 Earth is the opposite Number. It gives you the colouring of events.

2. Again cross refer, this time to find how 9 in turn will colour events surrounding Number 8.

In short this means, you cross refer between Numbers twice. Do not cross refer more than twice, or your thinking will become blurred or your thinking may become too associative.

Also, apart from built structures, 8 Earth points to land, possessions, moving house. Moving away seems likely.

Looking at the opponent, this 5 Earth person’s situation is much more advantageous.

Both for the election year and month, 5 Earth will be in the 6 Metal House, as strong an indication for leadership as they come.
Any Number occupying the 6 Metal House may tap into the possibility of harvesting efforts done in previous years.
Furthermore, 6 Metal House portents authority and support.

It is interesting to note that a fair number of USA presidents had been elected with their Numbers in the 6 Metal House and that the same dynamic is true on much smaller scales, like the authority you may gain in your business or even private home, when your Number is in the 6 Metal House. If you cannot seem to get something through to your family, wait until your Number is in the 6 Metal House and try again.

Using the Arrow technique, having established that in June the sitting president was not elected, it becomes a simple task to determine what month this loss was preluded.

In April, the president’s 9 Fire was in the 8 Earth House, on the Arrow. Already here, something must have happened that, at that time perhaps not obvious or significant to anyone, would lead to the president’s loss in June.

It means that – with most people focusing on the squares of actual events -, already months before the actual event happens, you would have been able to forecast the eventual outcome.

In the month of April, a 6 Metal month, 9 Fire resided in the 8 Earth House, i.e. Northeast in the Luo Shu.

The 8 Earth House will force decisions upon 9 Fire and we just need to assess the environmental Qi – i.e. the surrounding Stars in the Luo Shu -, as well as our common-sense assessment of the actual events surrounding the

elections, to know exactly which decision, or what revolution and change, the president will be dealing with.

In this square we would look for indications using the 7 Metal in the 8 Earth House, as well as the 1 Water and 3 Wood opposite in the 2 Earth House.

What is important, however, is that we skipped our attention from the June square to the April square, and start seeing a thread of events, presented to us by this way of looking at Luo Shu.
