Four Techniques of Beadcraft

In this section, I will be covering four groups of techniques for working with beads.  There are many others, but I am only going to look at these four.  They are:

  • Weaving on a bead loom is the first method of working with beads that I will look at.  You will need a loom, but you don't have to go out and buy one (even though they are not that expensive).  I will also have some instructions for building your own.
  • Weaving without a loom involves two techniques.  They are even-row (also called one-needle and peyote) and odd-row (two-needle).  Though they may sound difficult, they are not.
  • Other methods of working with beads are; applying to fabric, knitting and crochetting, and other patterns that are not woven.
  • Dreamcatchers are the latest in decorating accents although their origins are very old.  I will show you how to make small dreamcatchers that you can wear as jewelry after you have seen how to make bigger ones.
