Navigating the Lower Saint Lawrence in the 19th Century.
 
    The following articles belonging to the ship Industry, that was ashore on Red Island, viz:
    One bower anchor, one stream anchor, one kedge anchor, one bower cable cut, one stream cable, one tow-line, one line and other articles.
    The sale will begin immediately after Mr. Burns has finished.

 BY AUCTION. 
      Will be sold, tomorrow the 25th instant for the benefit of the underwriters, and other concerned on Mr. Mann's wharf, adjoining Mr. Mure's, the following articles saved from the wreck of the Isabella, on the 23rd July 1807, at sea, viz:
    One cable 13˝ inches, 1 hawser 7 inch, 1 longboat new, 1 jolly boat, 1 foresail, 1 main topsail, 1 coil 2˝ inch rope, 1 bell, 1 cabin stove, 1 medicine chest and several other articles.
    Also, 7 hogsheads good Muscovado sugar, and a few boxes real French soap, 10 barrels prime beef, three hogsheads Spanish red wine, remainder of the parcel sold on Wednesday last, and twenty five empty Spanish hogsheads which latter articles are not sold for account of the underwriters. And Messrs. Lester and Morrogh's fire engine with hose, buckets, &c.
    Sale to begin at one o'clock.

      The brig Acadie, Captain Ruel, sailed from Halifax, on the 12th ultimo for Quebec. She pursued her voyage without any accident, until Sunday the 18th ultimo, when a sudden squall off Mount Louis upset her; where she remained, on her beam ends, for near a quarter of an hour. By the exertions of Captain Ruel, the main shrouds were cut, after which she righted. The main mast broke with the weight of the sails, close by the board. The fore topmast, the main mast, with all the sails and rigging, were sent adrift, to prevent any further injury. The fore topsails were saved. After righting, it was found that the whole cargo had shifted. In this distressed situation she remained until Thursday following, when the brig Aid, of Liverpool, Captain Sullivan, bore down and offered every assistance which his situation would admit of. Two passengers, Mr. Riley, Q.M., of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment, and Mr. Christie, of this town, took their passage, for Quebec, with government
