We are getting ready for the trip.
The first day on the road it rained and rained.

This area reminds us of early camping trips with our children when they were small.
Coorong holiday 1964. Holiday 1980, The Granits.

That's where the rock lobster come from. Mmmmm, they taste good.

The land further uphill used to be swamp. Two men blasted a tunnel through the rocks so the water could escape to the Coorong. They gained a large piece of farm land. Unfortunately the photo doesn't show enough. It did look very interesting.

Our caravan.

The boss is doing well. The dog is doing not to bad.

It is still raining.

Mount Gambier and Blue Lake!

The population of Mount Gambier is 23000 and it is the town at the border of South Australia and Victoria. The town was build on an unique ancient landscape of volcanic craters, lakes and caves and mysterious underground waterways. (The last volcanic eruption has been 5000 years ago). The most famous Lake is the 70 m deep "Blue Lake", the towns water supply. This mysterious blue lake has a grey colour every year from April until November and changes suddenly over night to a reach deep blue. Nobody can explain why this is so, not even the scientist .
