b. On 1 April 1835, William and Elizabeth Arnold conveyed 200 acres in Greenville District to William Gambrell. On 29 November 1837 the heirs of William Gambrell sold two tracts of land in Anderson District. and one in Greenville. However on 18 March 1837, the Executor of John Gambrell (Sr.) father of William made a payment to the "Exec.. of Wm. Gambrell" so he had died prior to that date.
c. Affidavit dated 6 June 1878 supported by a bible record, by Mary A. F. Maddox, submitted in connection with a claim of widow for service pension, War of 1812, by Nancy, widow of John Gambrell (son of William) states that William Gambrell and Sarah Stone were married 2 Jan 1794. Mrs. Maddox further states that she is the daughter of Mastin Nabors and his wife Mary Gambrell, Daughter of William and Sarah Gambrell. f. Mary's age is given as 56 in the 1850 census (Greenville District.) and 65 in the 1860 (Lauren's District.) John is shown as age 55 in 1850 (Lauren's) and 65 in 1860(Lauren's). In her claim for pension (War of 1812) John's widow states that he was "about 20" years old when he enlisted in February. 1815.
g. statement in claim of widow for service pension (War of 1812), dated 6 June 1878, by Nancy (Nabors) Gambrell.

i. In an affidavit dated 14 June 1878, William Gambrell states that he is "Aged 80 Years, Ages in censuses of 1850 -80 agree (within a year) with this. (William Jr.)
j. (Nancy) in an affidavit dated 6 June 1878, Nancy Bagwell states that she is aged 78 years.
k. (James) Gravestone. Also in a affidavit date 19 June 1878, James Gambrell states that he is aged 76 years.

n. (Micajah and Sarah) Micajah has not been found in the 1850 census, but the age classes in which he is shown in those of 1810-1840 place his birth between 1804 and 1810.

Archives and History, lists him as killed at Fredericksburg 13, Dec. 1862. 17 Sept. is considered the best date.
