BIOGRAPHY

Fred BOURLARD was born in Brussels on 19 january 1929. Aged only 13, he enters Saint-Luc to make a higher degree in decorative arts and is honoured, seven years later, with a A+. In these days he simultaneously follows the courses in the Academies of Brussels and Saint-Josse-Ten-Noode, as well as in the Atelier Helstrom to develop and improve his drawing technique.

In 1966, he is claimed laureate of the Louis Schmidt prize, which allows him to participate to a great number of exhibitions in Belgium and Europe.

From 1970 to 1983 the painter takes part in quite a lot of exhibitions – as well personal as collective – of which only a small number are mentioned below.

For about twenty years now, the master has retired from social life but receives still young artists who are in quest of inspiration or of new techniques.
