  • Start filming in mid-July
  • German actors Philippe Brenninkmeyer and Daniel Morgenroth who will play as Fann and Q's lovers respectively.
  • Although Maggie Q act as Fann's daughter but they will only have one scene together, where Fann attends Q's graduation ceremony.
  • It is known that filming will take place in 40 locations around Singapore, including the Raffles Hotel and sets of old Chinatown recreated at Tang Dynasty Village.
  • The telemovie will air in Germany, the US, and Singapore with a different language dubbed for each territory.
  • Shot on 16mm film, it will be broadcast on German television in the third quarter of next year. While there is no confirmed date for the show's broadcast in Singapore, there are plans for it to screen here by the end of next year.
  • Fann plays the daughter of a wealthy Chinese sinseh, whom Brenninkmeyer eventually abandons along with their unborn child.
  • Filming should be wrapped by September.

  • House of Harmony is a $7-million co-production between Singapore's Oak3 Films and Germany's FFP Media, and with the involvement of the Media Development Authority.
  • This script is adapted from a period novel of the same title by American writer Barbaba Wood.
  • Barbaba Wood is extremely popular in Germany especially with women and of the five shows that made out from her novels ...each had an average of seven million viewers when it was shown. That's a 23 per cent market share!
  • It will involve some 100 crew and 700 extras.


    Synopsis
    Fann Wong will not be jetting to Germany for her upcoming German-Singapore TV co-production. She will shoot her scenes for the show, tentatively titled House of Harmony or Perfect Harmony, right here. Fann plays a herbalist in the 1920s. They fall in love, and she gets preggers. But because the path of true love never runs smooth and all that jazz, he has to return to Germany to break up with his old girlfriend, promising to return to Fann's side. Alas, she never sees him again. Later, Fann gives birth to Maggie Q who grows up to make the same mistakes her mother had made.

    The German parties involved are ZDF German Television Network, one of Europe¡¯s largest and most respected broadcasters, and production house FFP-Media (a sister company of Opal-Media). On the Singapore side, the parties are the Media Development Authority of Singapore and production house Oak3Films. The title of the telemovie is ¡°The House of Harmony¡± and it is a love story adapted from a best selling novel by Barbara Wood. The story takes place in Singapore and America from the 1920s to 1950s. Synopsis: A beautiful Chinese girl, Meiling, has a forbidden love affair with a young American man in Singapore. He leaves Singapore and never returns. Meiling gives birth to their Eurasian daughter whom she names Perfect Harmony. When she grows up, Perfect Harmony journeys to America to search for her father.

    The 2-episode telemovie will be shot on 16mm film, with each episode being 90 minutes in duration.
