Daughter of the Empire  a Star Wars Fanfiction by Peggy Stockdale

            Five years after the death of the Emperor Palpatine, his adopted daughter and sole heir, Lady Cristine Palptine, is now the ruler of the Galactic Empire.  However,  since the Rebels took Coruscant, the Empie has begun to dwindle, and trust of the young ruler with it.  More and more star systems are joining the Rebels' New Republic, and Imperial factions argue among themselves over what should be done.  In midst of it all, Lady Palpatine senses the forming of a conspiracy, and sets out to unroot it herself.

            In doing so, she meets Alief, a mercenary who becomes her bodyguard and personal operative.  Much feeling flows between term, but Cristine is already bound to another: Exar Kardann, Dark Lord of the Sith and claimed successor of Darth Vader.  He would give he the power she needs to hold the Empire together, but he secretly works to pull it apart.  As the thrat to the Empire increases, along with the love between she and Alief, Cristine is faced with the reality of the situation, and must choose between the Empire she had sworn to uphold, and her love for a man who becomes one of an older enemy -the Jedi.

Wow!  I actually have more typed!  I'd almost forgotten about it.  Maybe I will get somewhere with this someday...

I'm actually currently trying to adapt this story into an original setting, so I have more or less officially  concluded that I will never finish this in fan fic for anyway.  What I might do, at least, is put together what  bits and pieces I have to make a sort of summary/review sort of thing, and might gradually fill in the gaps.
