The imaginary two foot railroad, Fish Camp, Lonsdale and Wood River reflects my interest in narrow gauge trains .As a member of the New England HOn30 Module Guild I have enjoyed members input while building modules and equipment with a Down East flavor. Thanks to all who contributed to my enjoyment of this most unique hobby.
The basic track plan for the Fish Camp module. The station "Flag Stop" is located here along with a water tank and two sidings serving local industries associated with commerce in the camp and on Cambria Bay.
Track plan for Lonsdale. This module features a small river, passing track and siding to serve the logging company "Black Fly Lumber and Land Management Company" It is also the staging area for the FCL&WR Railroads local operation.
Wood River is an inside corner module that connects Fish Camp with Lonsdale. Features on this module include a long trestle over the river and small maintainence facility for the local track crew.
Lee Smiths' fire train pauses for orders at the "Flag Stop" station on Fish Camp. This picture is early in the construction stage and a backdrop has not been added.
A train enters the yard limits after passing through the covered bridge on Flag Stop.
This view is from Wood River module looking towards Fish Camp.
Wood River under construction. Track is code 55 layed on wood and PC ties- spaced about every six to eight ties.
A local freight crosses Dickey Trestle on the Wood River module.
This shows the backdrop style used on all modules. A cutout allows easy access to the bolts holding the legs. I have found it easier to travel with the backdrop attached.
The back side is stiffened with small thin pieces of pine ripped on the table saw.
A Black Fly Lumber critter pulls a FCL&WR combine across the draw bridge on member Roland Marcotte module at Whitman.
The Black Fly Lumber Companys log buggies prove too light for the backing operation.
The pier and transfer crane wait for some activity.
These two corners allow operation of trains when not at shows or guild meets. Two more are under consrtuction to allow tail chasing and switching moves.
