The fourth and newest member of the Knight Sabers, Linna kicks off the 2040 storyline by arriving in Tokyo and almost immediately making connections between the Knight Sabers and the rock singer Priss. Although she is employed at a Genom subsidiary company which manufactures Boomer parts, she has already grown dissatisfied with her lot in life. By the time we first meet her, she appears to be actively looking for a way to join the Knight Sabers. Linna's personal grievance with Genom has not yet been revealed, but it's obviously great enough for her to agree to join the team despite some heavy doubts about the morals and code of ethics the Sabers operate under. Fans of the original series often called Linna the most "ordinary" of the four leads, but that is not the same as saying that she is the least interesting. Indeed, while the other three Sabers tend to have consistent motivations that drive them in predictable directions, Linna is the groups' "wild card", whose actions can seldom be completely anticipated.

Character Traits & Attributes:

Linna is the heart of the Knight Sabers. She may voice her opinions softly and allow herself to be over-ridden, but she wears her feelings on her sleeve and the others always know where they stand with her. Linna's genuine honesty begins to crack the stoic resolve of Priss' tough girl façade and she also immediately bonds with Nene. A literal "country girl in the big city", Linna finds the "toughness" of city life upsetting. She is especially unnerved by the cold and callous way Priss and Sylia go about disposing of boomers, but gets equally upset and vocal when she sees a man abusing a waitress-model Voomer. She has a keen mind and a good eye for detail, tracking down Priss' identity as a member of the Knight Sabers by mentally matching similar gestures and a picture of her eyes. Although she is slow to anger, once she's been set off she won't give up until she's made the offender pay. Similarly, once she's made up her mind that Priss is somehow connected to the Knight Sabers, she is tenacious in tracking the singer down. When she's foiled or frustrated she can be moved to tears.

Linna is extremely athletic, a factor that leads to her introduction into the team. In one chase sequence, on foot and wearing high-heels, Linna almost manages to catch a motorcycle-riding Priss. In the original series Linna worked as an aerobics instructor, but now all we know for sure is that she was a track and field star in high school. Linna also seems to be obsessed with Priss and at one point actually asks Nene if Priss "likes girls', which raises some interesting questions about Linna herself. It's possible that, since Priss was Linna's first Knight Saber contact, Linna is simply trying to gain acceptance from someone who seems so cold on the surface. However, Sylia has made Linna quite aware that it was Priss who actually brought Linna to Sylia's attention… much to Priss' embarrassment.
