Episode 17: The Crest of Sincerity
After surviving their ordeal with Scar Graymon (see ep.16), the kids find themselves in the destert again roasting unter the hot Digisun. Soon the spot a gigantic cactus, and wanting shade they stampede towards it. It turns out that the cactus is one of Jennai's holograms, and it disapears to reveal Jennai. He tells the kids that their skills as the digimon's masters is lacking at that there is a trainer nearby that can help them. Before anyone can question him, his hologram disapears only to reveal an actual yacht heading towards them. The get out of the way before it stops just yards from where they were. A Numemon shipmate peers over the edge, and Tai asks him his he and the others could rest up on his ship. The Numemon isn't too sure about Tai, but after Mimi bats her eyes a few times, the Numemon couldn't lower the embarking ramp fast enough. On the ship: Mimi and Sora head strait for the showers; Matt, TK, and Izzy with their digimon help themselves to the buffet table; and Tai and Joe with Gomamon and Koromon rest by/in the pool. On the upper deck a misterious figure watches the kids. He reveals himself to be Cockatrimon, one of Etemon's Henchmen. He tries to dial up Etemon but his network is still down. Cockatrimon decides to take matters into his own (feathered) hands and orders the Numemon to capture the Digidestined. Tai and Joe are their first targets, and Koromon digivolves to Agumon in attempt to save Tai (and Joe). Before Agumon and Gomamon can do anything, Cockatrimon uses his PetriFire attack on the two digimon turing them into stone. Cockatrimon takes the two crests and searches for the others. He finds Matt, TK, and Izzy and turns their digimon into stone as well. He tries to locate Sora and Mimi, but by the time he has seached all o the rooms, even the washrooms, he finds their wet footprints on the deck. Before Sora, Mimi, and their digimon can escape, Cockatrimon blocks their path and informs them that he has tied up the other (humans) in the sun, and they are frying like "curly frech fries with a side of cole slaw".. Biyomon uses her Spiral Twister, and Palmon uses her Poison Ivy. Cockatrimon counters them with his PetriFire attack, and the digimon and girls narrowly escape the blast. When the foursome are conered at the bow of the ship, Biyomon digivolves to Birdramon and uses her Metor Wing to knock Tai and Joes crest from Cockatriom's (feathered) hands. Palmon digivolves to Togemon and with one punch sends Cockatrimon into the ship's smoke stacks. The digimon are returned to noraml, and the girls rescue Tai and the others and leave the ship. Moments later they find out that a very charred Cockatrimon is still after them. They see another gigantic catus, but a real one this time, and they hide behind it just at Cockatrimon's ship collides with the cactus which throws the ship into the atomosphere, where it blows up sending Cockatrimon down with it. After Cockatrimon is destroyed, Mimi's crest begins to glow, and the bud on the top of the cactus blossoms into The Crest of Sincerity. Mimi now owns the newest crest, and the kids head off into the sunset in search for the last four crests.
