  • Eorl the Young had a horse named Félarof who could understand human language. Gandalf's own Shadowfax is one of Felarof's descendants.

  • Arwen and Aragorn's kids are 1/16 Elvish and 1/111,088,677,576 Numenorean!

  • When Dom brought Billy the wrong ice cream flavor, Billy locked him in a cupboard as punishment!

  • The white in "The White Rider" refers to the color of Gandalf's robes and not Shadowfax, who was actually grey.

  • Théoden was actually born in Gondor. His father Thengel spent several years there before returning to Rohan when Théoden was five.

  • Éowyn was said to look like her grandmother, Morwen of Lossarnach, who was nicknamed "Steelsheen" for her beauty and pride.

  • 1,264 eggs were served to the cast and extras every day during filming!

  • Faramir has never seen an elf (he says so when he first meets Sam and Frodo in "The Two Towers").

  • Viggo Mortensen bought the horse that played Brego. (and Hidalgo might i add)

  • During Bilbo's farewell speech at his party, his cake (Which was polystyrene) was actually on fire! But because Sir Ian Holm was doing such a good take, they just kept filming, and actually used it in the film!

  • "Aragorn" is a Sindarin word, but "Elessar" is a Quenya word. "Boromir" and "Faramir" are a mix of both languages.

  • Despite the film's casting, Aragorn is seventeen years OLDER than Théoden.'

  • Aragorn was born on March 1st. He also died on March 1st, 210 years later. I hear the same thing happened to Shakespeare...

  • Faramir and Samwise Gamgee are the same age: 36.

  • Bilbo and Frodo share a birthday: September 22nd.

  • Tolkien actually had the "great dark wave" dream that Faramir talks about in RotK.

  • Faramir dreams about a place he's never been to (Númenor).

  • Pippin named his son Faramir.

  • "Frodo" was originally Pippin's name! While Merry was "Marmaduke" and Sam was "Odo"! Frodo (Who started the story as Bingo) was later given the name of his traveling companion, and the other hobbits names were changed as well (obviously).
