Odds 'n' Ends

In my dual efforts to whip this website into shape and move all my stuff onto my new laptop, I've stumbled across a great deal of Demons-related stuff that, for one reason or another, has fallen by the wayside and doesn't really fit anywhere else. So, rather than dump all this neat old ephemera, I've decided to put together this page to serve as a sort of refugee camp to protect these innocent files from the tyranny of irrelevance. Enjoy the hell out of them!

"Photos From the Tour"

This fun little bit of nonsense was cooked up between late-night recording sessions for Monkey Fear Cafe back in tenth grade. It's held a place of honor on the homepage menu ever since, but since I'm planning on slapping together an actual photo gallery in the near future (all together now: HAHAHAHA!), I figured it was about time to give it a new home. That chihuahua is still at large.

Early cover concept for Radio Hour. Actually, "early" probably isn't quite the right word. We started work on the cover around 7 o'clock the night before we finished the album. This is probably 9-ish; we hit on the final design around 2 AM, after accidentally hitting the "invert colors" button. Looking back at this one, it's actually pretty damn cool, though way too small to be an album cover (as well as a blatantly illegal plagerization of the RKO logo, but that was never really a concern of ours).

Way back when, this site was hosted on Hollywood.com. Unfortunately, after a year or two of reliable service, Hollywood.com decided to not host websites anymore, so we had to scurry off to Geocities, which is sort of the web-hosting equivalent of getting a cot at the YMCA (Just kidding, Geocities! We love your free web-hosting! Please don't shut us down!). Anyway, there were a few months between when we made our pilgrimage and when Hollywood pulled the plug, so we whipped up this nifty graphic to point any wayward Demons fans in the right direction (We're leaving California because it was Hollywood.com, get it? Get it?! You better say yes, dammit!)

Another little image we put together in a dry spell between recording sessions. For one reason or another, we never did anything with it, apart from putting a tiny, unreadable version on the Monkey Fear CD label. Stupid and pointless? Maybe, but it still cracks me up to no end. Kimmy's a spokesthing whose time as come.

Cover detail from Monkey Fear Cafe. Nothing too groundbreaking about this one; just thought it'd be nice to share it in its full-sized glory, as it's pretty small on the actual CD, and smaller still on the coverscan on the website. This one was all Andy, and a mighty fine job he did.

The back cover of Monkey Fear, freed from the bonds of track listings. I still like this a lot, even if it is a fairly obscure cultural reference. We shoulda made it a t-shirt.

This half-page ad was featured in the 2002 Parker School yearbook. We paid good money for that ad, kids, and while I don't believe it led to any album sales, it did add a nice splash of cynicism to the yearbook. Notice that the cover art for Radio Hour doesn't appear in the ad; this is because the ad was finished way, way before the album was even close to completion. Pretty gutsy move for a bunch of slackers like us, even if we did make good on it.

More to come?

Eh, it's possible. The beauty of a section like this is that I don't need to feel bad about not updating it; by its definition, it draws from finite resources. So, if I find anything else worth adding, I'll put it up here; if not, consider it an exhibit. In the meantime, why don't you just go...
