The present time and the crossroad of the Argentinean revolution: the
crisis of revolutionary leadership of the proletariat becomes worse before the
counterrevolutionary offensive to miscarry the revolution
The revolution that has begun in Argentina is half way done. It needs a
new assault of the masses to open a dual power regime, what would put onto the
agenda the preparation of the insurrection and the taking the state power. To
miscarry and to defeat this revolution, the forces of the bourgeoisie and the
imperialism and their counterrevolutionary agents, the different variants of
the Stalinism and the Castroism, and the union bureaucracy are plotted.
As we have already explained, in the next two months they prepare a
colossal and historical trap, with the “Plaza del Si” (a mobilization
supporting the government of Duhalde) and the “Plaza del No” (one against
Duhalde’s government), to liquidate the organs of the exploited masses and the
real trenches of class against class that confront in the Argentinean
revolution. With this policy they imposed the Menemato in the 90s. In that
opportunity, this policy was denominated of “the two sidewalks”: on one side
those that were with Menem, and on the other one the bourgeois “anti-Menemist”
forces. The “Plaza del Si” was then to support the privatizations; the “Plaza
del No” was to privatize as well, but with “transparency” and leaving some
currencies in the coffers of the native bourgeoisie. That “Plaza del No” was
summoned by the United Left (Izquierda Unida) of the old MAS (Movement towards
Socialism) and the CP who left vacant chair and a microphone for the
treacherous union bureaucrat Ubaldini so that he could speak. That “Plaza del
No” was the beginning of the end of the fight of the exploited so that it was not
imposed a decade of disgrace, defeats and national hand over.
Today, the actors are different, but the play is the same one. They want
to impede at any coast a new assault of the masses that finishes sweeping all
the vestiges of the infamous regime and that put to the Argentinean revolution
on the way to the insurrection and the victory of the proletarian revolution.
Meanwhile, and like complement of this counterrevolutionary policy, the
imperialism, at the same time that needs to discharge the economic World crisis
deepening the exploitation and the subjection of the semicolonies, has chosen
to give a punishment to the Argentinean masses, and, for extension, to all the
exploited masses of Latin America and the world, at the same degree that the
one that gave in Afghanistan, and Malvinas war in 1982. While it uses the
direct military interventionism in Colombia, in Argentina it deepens the
economic blow and the collapse, because it wants the economic decomposition and
their unheard sufferings acting as a disciplinant of the working class, also of
all the classes and class sectors. The attack that the imperialism orders is
merciless: the devaluation and the inflation already devours the miserable
wages, the unemployment already overcomes 30%, the more ferocious famine ravage
the labor and popular homes, and a wave of sackings and suspensions spreads
over hundreds of factories, the already reduced wages of the state workers and
the pensioners are not paid in currency but in funds, and also, in quotas. The
ordered attack is deeper to the one that had been negotiated with Cavallo, the
former minister of economy of the overthrown De la Rúa.
These sufferings are acting as motor for the revolutionary activity of
the masses that doesn't stop. But, because of the crisis of revolutionary
leadership, that has been heated, that inexhaustible energy of the masses that
have built up its organs of direct democracy is not able to be concentrated on
a new assault.
They want to prevent this new assault with economic blows and
punishments to the oppressed nation, with fifth-columns that act from inside
the revolutionary organizations of the masses, with official bourgeois traps
and “opposition” to subordinate the exploited to the bourgeoisie, with Fascist
bands ferociously beating the isolated actions of the masses; with the
enlistment of the police and the gendarmería in an unique force of repression
centralized at national level. And if all these dikes are not able to stop the
masses, the army, yesterday genocidist, will find some general called by this
same infamous regime to cause in Argentina a massacre superior to that of the
dictatorship of Videla in 1976.
How much reason had comrade Trotsky and the 4th International
when they said that in situations like this the exploited needed to have a
revolutionary party that puts in foot a revolutionary strategy to lead the
exploited to the taking of the state power, defeating the counterrevolutionary
leaderships and the traps of the bourgeoisie!
The treacherous leaderships that impede a new
revolutionary assault of the masses support the infamous regime:
A new rising with pickets, “cacerolazos” and
revolutionary general strike
Who does support today to the government and the rubbles of the old
regime of parties hated by the masses? Why doesn't this new assault of masses,
supplementary to that of December that finishes cleaning the scum of the old
regime arises? The bourgeois parties, whose leaders are not able to walk in the
streets because the workers’ and people’s hate pursues them, do not support
them.
The support comes from the union bureaucracy. The old bureaucracy of the
three unions -the two CGTs and the CTA- headed respectively by Daer, Moyano and
De Gennaro, although deeply discredited at the same level than the bourgeois
political parties, tied the hands of the employed labor movement, deeply
divided with an immense majority of hired or “in black” workers, frightened by
the economic blow and paralyzed by the threat of the unemployment.
The new union bureaucracy of the unemployed movement, mounted on the
management of the millions of dollars of the “Planes Trabajar”, takes charge of
tie up a fraction of the unemployed workers, while their immense mass of almost
4 millions are at the mercy of the direct charities of the bourgeois state
through bags of food, tickets for supermarkets of miserable $20 (around 10
dollars), public dining rooms, controlled by the neighborhood militants of the
PJ -the “punteros” (pointers)- lead by the wife of Duhalde and by the Church.
This way, it the labor movement is wanted to be divided.
But, given the economic collapse that continues without having a visible
way out, this can not hold the masses, so the phenomenon of the popular
assemblies is extending from the Federal Capital to the eminently labor
neighborhoods of the Great Buenos Aires. There the apparatus of the Peronist
party has organized bands of hoodlums -the same that attacked the unemployed
that went to request for food to the Central Market and killed a worker- that,
like it happened in the town of Merlo, attacked the neighbors that wanted to
concentrate to deliberate in the central square to the shout of “Death to the
zurdos1!”
A deep process of reflection has begun within the vanguard and the
revolutionary masses. The workers and the people that have begun to conquer
their organs of direct democracy, refuse to commend anybody. This maintains
dislocated at the top the bourgeois regime that is not able to impose its
economic discipline neither its politics to the revolutionary masses. For that
reason the Stalinist apparatuses and their servants, and the small centrist
apparatuses, strive to control the organs of the masses and to put them to the
service of the agreements between the parties of the infamous regime. For that
reason new significant counterrevolutionary maneuvers are in progress, as those
that we have outlined.
As Trotsky would say, in the revolution a pendulum acts: from December
until February, in only two months that seem one decade, the assault of the
masses has not ceased once and again. But because of the action of the
counterrevolutionary and treacherous leaderships, the masses have not still
conquered centralized organs and have not armed for the combat, to give a new
decisive blow. The pendulum threatens to oscillate dangerously towards the
right. It is that if the labor movement and the masses and their organs don't
give an imperious alternative before the crisis and to the catastrophe, the
bourgeoisie will give it with new reactionary and counterrevolutionary actions.
And the all the treacherous scoundrels will throw the blame to the
“backwardness of the masses”, to the “backwardness of their conscience”!
As never before, the question of the revolutionary leadership of the
masses has become a very important factor of the future of the Argentinean
revolution. The last word has not been said yet. Will the inexhaustible and
heroic energy of the masses be able to make fail those intents? This will be
for it turns and to be defined in the next combats, in the streets and in the
ferocious fight of parties against the treacherous leaderships that it is
established.
Our small current that stays strong in its combat, doesn't plan to give
even an inch to the politics of class collaboration and its “mermaid songs”,
neither to the terror of the Fascist bands, neither to the blows and
provocations of the counterrevolutionary fifth-columns. In combats like this,
in the revolution itself, were tempered the Trotskyism and the 4th
International.
This is the reason why we awake the hate of the treacherous leaderships
and their servants; and more and more, while the revolution still alive, there
will be workers, unemployed, thousands and of revolutionary fighters that
surround us as they are already doing now. From there the forces to defeat the
treacherous leaderships will arise.

1 Zurdos:
pejorative word used by the militants of the semi-Fascist wings of the Peronism
and the union bureaucracy to denominate the left.
