About Adam and Grace||
My name's Adam Bacchus, currently 18 years old (subject to change in early September), and will be attending the Institute of Technology at the University of Minnesota in the fall (for computer programming). I live around the twin cities (have been for my whole life), but hope to move to California as soon as possible (which will probably be after completing my undergrad studies at the U).
So... hobbies n' junk. Well, I'd say music is definitely the one thing I've fallen in love with more than anything else. Once I can afford it, I plan to have a recording studio in my basement =). As far as what I play, I mainly play bass guitar & drums, but I've dabbled in a lot of other random junk too... I've been playing hand drums for a long time, I have a band at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival in which I do so... other than that, I play: all the random percussive stuff from "traditional" band (xylophone, chimes, snare, timpani, etc.), bodhran (traditional Irish drum), recorder, bowed psaltery (string instrument), a bit of piano, and I've sighted with a guitar in hand from time to time. I enjoy learning new instruments whenever I can =).
Like I said before, I have a band at Renfest (Minnesota Renaissance Festival). I've been drumming in the band for four years. The first two years, my sister was the leader of the band. She moved to California before the '01 season of Renfest, and the other two members (both drummers) left. The only remaining members were myself, and our guitarist, Neil. I basically rebuilt the band and took the leadership position that my sister used to fill. Other than the band, I tend to hang out at/work at the Crystal Stix tent a lot. Crystal Stix are juggling sticks, similar to Devil Sticks. I recently bought a pair of "Hot Stix", crystal stix where you can light the ends on fire ;).
Other random stuff I get into includes: writing (mainly poetry), drawing, philosophy, bumming around coffee shops, skating, improv acting (out at renfest), playing music in the streets (in California), computer art, anime, gyros (oooh how I love gyros), sleeping, psychology (to an extent), and playing with sidewalk chalk (yep, I'm serious).
