Hugh and Sibella Tinnin had
issue: William Hugh, Jr., b. 1786, Davidson Co., Tenn., m. Elizabeth Harris (dau. of James of Lincoln Co., Ga.) 30 Jan. 1814 in Cape Girardeau, Mo.; d. 1840 Izard Co., Ark. Azariah (named for Sibella's brother), b. 1790, Tenn., m. Susannah Yount on 3 Feb. 1817 in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Lawrence, (named for Sibella's father) d. 1821 Lawrence Co., Ark. m. Elizabeth Allen Thomas, m. Nancy Allen John, m. Elizabeth Moore Lemuel, m. Elizabeth Walton Jane, m. Richard Harrison Sarah, m. Andrew Allen Possibly others. Land Grants of St. Stephens, Alabama Territory, Hugh and Azariah Tinnin received a grant in Washington Co. in 1808. It wasn't long before Hugh, Jr. and his brother moved up to Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He married Elizabeth Harris 30 January, 1814 in Cape Giradeau, Mo.(Marriage Lisence Bk. A. #109) She was the daughter of James and Sally Farrar Bibb Harris. James died in Lincoln Co., Ga. in 1804 (will dated 1803). Missouri didn't become a territory until 1812. It wasn't until 1815 that the Treaty was signed with the Indians. In 1820, Hugh and Elizabeth moved to Lawrence County, Arkansas, (later Independence Co.) where Hugh became one of the first members of the Arkansas State Legislature. He also petitioned for, and got, one of the first, if not THE first, mail routes in Arkansas. It was probably while serving on the State Legislature that he met Maj. Jake Wolf, whose daughter, Amanda, married Azariah, son of Hugh. Independence
