Hargrave  Family

John Hargrave Sr.
volunteered in '75 serving under Capt. Dennis Hawkins and Col. Daniel Horry.  They joined Lee's Army and went to Charleston where he was assigned to Sullivan's Island and Fort Moultrie.  After  British left he was discharged.  Volunteered again in '80 serving under Captain Thomas Hemphill and Col. Francis Lock.  He later served under Francis Boykin as Capt  and was a horseman.  He applied for and received a Revolutionary Pension.
Four great great great grand daughters of John Hargrave Sr. and two great great great great grand daughters who all descend from his son, John Robert Hargrave, Jr. through the daughter Nancy Jane Hargrave Wolf have joined Daughters of the American Revolution on his service. 
One great great great great great granddaughter who descends from his son John Robert Hargrave, Jr. through his son Robert Baker Hargave also joine on his service.

War of 1812 Service

Michael Wolf II served as Captain of his own company of Calwells Regiment of Mounted Militia in General Hopkins's campaign against the Indians in the fall of 1812.  The roster of names in the regiment reflect many early settlers in this area: 
Wolf Adams, Linn, Cave, Newton, Berry, Anderson, Hamilton, Brown, Akin, Talburt and others.

be found in Kentucky Soldiers of the War of 1812, published 1969.
