5. JOHN WESLEY4 MCCARTY (WILLIAM W.3, WILLIAM2, THOMAS1) was born 29-Jul-1854 in Missouri (his daughter Jennie's death certificate says AR, but it states that the information was supplied by the hospital institution and not by family members) and died 03-Oct-1929.  He married  She died 04-May-1972. He married (2) LOUISE ALLIE CARLTON 07-Mar-1872 in Stone Co., AR, daughter of AARON CARLTON and MARY BUZBEE. She was born 24-Nov-1855 in Alabama one source, Wolf Bayou, Cleburne Co., AR in another source.   He married  (2) MELLIE COUCH.   He died 30-May-1926 in Garvin Co., OK.

Notes for JOHN WESLEY MCCARTY:
John (Wesley) other sources list his names as Wilson McCarty and wife Louise(a) moved to Oklahoma and founded the town of McCarty in Garvin Co. He visited Martha Eve McCarty about once a year until she died. (I believe this to be his mother) Ina McCar;ty Cannon and her father Bo McCarty ( I do not know who these people are) visited him years ago. He had re-married late in life and had a small boy at that time.
His father was William Wilson McCarty, born in Indiana and died in Arkansas. He married before 1841 and then again before 1855. The wife Elizabeth Wilson was the mother of John Wilson (Wesley) McCarty.
Since he had an older brother named Julius Wilson McCarty, his name is probably John Wesley instead of John Wilson as I have in most of my notes; (Dorothy Boynton)
