Christened 6 August 1770, Bridlington, Yorkshire, England. A copy of the Banns of Marriage between Bartholomew Boynton and Catharien Rowlston was found. This copy was hand written and states: Banns of marriage between Bartholomew Boynton and Catharien were published on Sunday 9, 16 and 23 March 1794 by Thos. Gilpin, Curate. The said Bartholomew of this parish, Joiner, bachelor and the said Catharien Rowlston of this parish, spinster were married in this church by banns this 11th day of May 1794 by Thomas Gilpin, Curate in the presence of Wm. Martin and Walter Bateman. The church is St. Nicholas, in Stillington, Yorkshire, England. No record of Bartholomew being born in the parish of Stillington exists. It is believed that he located here as a young man. also I was unable to find any other Boyntons in this parish prior to Bartholomew living here. There doesn't appear to be any births or christenings of Bartholomew Boynton, in this time era, in any other parish, except Bridlington. This statement was also verified by Joan Facey in her research, looking at the actual microfilms.
